Does anyone know if I could still write to them there?

Justin Timberlake Working 'NSecret On Star-Packed Solo LP
07.23.2002 11:01 AM EDT

Justin Timberlake's debut solo project is not only one of the most anticipated albums of the year, it is one of the most well guarded.

The 'NSYNC star has been in and out of recording studios all year, yet neither his record label nor his management will say anything about the record.

Still, the music industry is buzzing and details are trickling out. Most are coming from collaborators — and there appear to be many — but Timberlake himself has spilled a few beans.

Phoning in to Orlando's WJHM-FM last week, he told DJs the album will be out "hopefully this fall." A spokesperson for Jive Records, however, said the as-yet-untitled project is not on their release schedule.

As for the record's nitty gritty, here's what we know:

Behind the boards, the Neptunes are working on multiple tracks, and P. Diddy and his production partner Mario Winans have donated an up-tempo track.

Mike City (Brandy, Nappy Roots), Raphael Saadiq (Bilal, Ginuwine) and Rodney Jerkins (Michael Jackson, 'NSYNC) are also planning to produce tracks for the album, but as of last month none had logged any studio time with Timberlake.

"I just got a call about working on the project," Jerkins said at the BET Awards. "Whenever he wants it, it's done."

As for guest vocalists, two artists Timberlake has recorded with will likely return the favor on his record.

Brian McKnight's manager said he has already recorded with the 'NSYNC star, who appeared on his "My Kind of Girl" single from last year's Superhero, while Nelly has been telling reporters the two friends are discussing another collaboration. Timberlake sings on Nellyville's "Work It."

Angie Stone revealed early in the year that she had been in the studio with Timberlake, and Usher said last month he hoped to log some studio time with him too.

"We're supposed to sit down, have a meeting, talk about it, just creatively," Usher said. "Hopefully, the schedule won't come into play. I know definitely it would be one of the hottest records ever placed out. Ever."

Even if all of the aforementioned artists do end up working with Timberlake, there's no guarantee their tracks will make his album, which is likely the reason his spokespeople have not revealed any information. (BT, not Jive Records, announced his collaborations with Britney Spears for her last album, only to have the material not make the final cut.)

One thing is for certain: Timberlake will be teaming up with all sorts of artists this weekend as Nelly, Usher and McKnight are scheduled to appear at 'NSYNC's Challenge for the Children IV celebrity basketball game on Saturday in Orlando, Florida.

Christina Takes Control

Aguilera abandons teen pop on new album

What a girl wants -- it turns out -- is to grow up. And right now, Christina Aguilera is doing just that with a new album she's making on her own terms. "We're in the home stretch," Aguilera says of the fall release as she curls up on a couch inside a Hollywood recording studio. It's late on a Friday night in June, and Aguilera is at work with producer Linda Perry, the hot hand behind Pink's recent hits. Also collaborating with Aguilera are Alicia Keys, Dr. Dre associate Scott Storch, Glen Ballard and Dave Navarro.
The new album -- her first since 2000 -- is a declaration of independence from her teen pop past: "When you're seventeen, you're green. I fell into something that wasn't quite me. Being twenty-one now, I've grown into more of what I feel like as a woman. This record is definitely my baby." Tonight she looks relaxed and sexy in a safety-pinned "Puerty Rico" t-shirt, jeans and a Kangol cap. "I wanted to make a record that was about me completely. Nothing superficial, no hype, no gloss." Aguilera considered "Stripped" as a title. "But we thought it could be sexually misconstrued," she says. "We don't want to give the wrong impression."

"I think Christina has incredible instincts," adds co-producer Scott Storch. "I was surprised by how talented she is. And she is by far the best voice in the business."

Retailers expect the album to be a hot item. "There's a good vibe left for Christina," says Dave Alder, senior vice president of product and marketing for Virgin Megastores. "Instead of rushing a follow-up, the label left the right amount of time. Good pop is still important."

Tonight, Aguilera previews tracks such as "Beautiful" ("I am beautiful/No matter what they say"), a lush ballad about moving on called "Cruise" and a rocker, "Make Me Over," that includes the lines "I don't need anyone to make me over/Save your bullshit for another day." Of the album's hard-edged lyrics, she says, "If you wanted to know what I was up to on my last tour, or even with my last boyfriend, just listen."

Still, Aguilera says her life, and her album, reflect both her struggle and her happiness. "Even though I've been screwed over by certain people, there's a time where it's like, 'I'm going to show you all.' And it's OK, because I'm going to survive."

Seems that 'Britney' called in the Kidd Kraddick show this morning, but no one believed it was really her. They asked questions and even made fun of her. Then after she hung up - they called Lynne and she confirmed it was actually Britney.

http://www.stars2ya.com/Media/Audio/Interviews/BritneySpears-106.1kissfm-www.Stars2ya.com.mp3

This is the link. I think it is pretty funny to listen to them crack up and make fun of the situation. I personally don't think he sounds like Britney. But the lady DJ apparently is a huge Britney fan. I feel bad for her because she felt so bad when they said it was Britney.

Lance Bass Gets Russia's Nod For October Space Flight

'NSYNC's Lance Bass undergoes cosmonaut training at Star City

After months of hedging, the Russian Space Agency has finally decided that Lance Bass has the right stuff.

The agency has asked the International Space Station Multilateral Coordination Board for permission to launch the 'NSYNC singer as early as this fall, according to a letter sent to the nation-partners in the International Space Station.

"It's official, he's their candidate," confirmed NASA spokesperson Dwayne Brown on Tuesday (July 16). "We did indeed receive a letter nominating Lance Bass for the October flight."

Also on the Russians' list for the prospective three-person crew are professional cosmonauts Sergei Zalyotin of Russia and Frank De Winne of Belgium. The crew proposal letter, dated July 12, is currently being reviewed by the Multilateral Crew Operations Panel, confirmed a spokesperson for the Canadian Space Agency, which is hosting the panel meetings this week in Quebec. "Right now, they're looking at the criteria," spokesperson Anna Kapiniari said, "and determining his eligibility."

Whatever the outcome of those panel meetings, the board of international partners — space agencies from Russia and 16 other nations, including Japan, Canada and members of the European Space Agency — will have only a few weeks to give their final approval. "Things are moving fairly quickly," NASA's Brown said, "because, in essence, this is coming in late."

Bass already started his preliminary cosmonaut training at Star City, despite approval for his candidacy still pending. The Russian letter notes that though training for a civilian usually takes six months, Bass' four-month crash course shouldn't derail him, since his progress is being monitored. "The Russians feel he meets the criteria," Brown said, "and though his training will be shorter than desired, the operative word is safety."

Bass' backers are still working out the financial details of the business plan to fund his $20 million flight, but said that the process is moving along.

Though contracts have yet to be signed, negotiations for corporate sponsors and a network deal appear to be nearing completion.

"As final negotiations continue," MirCorp spokesperson Jeffrey Lenorovitz said, "everything is being left open for Lance to fly. If and when the contract is signed, Lance will still have a chance. The mental approach from the Russians is positive, the whole atmosphere is positive, and people are pulling together. So if the conditions are met, he should have the opportunity to do it. It looks good."

"The process has been started," Brown said, "and the clock is ticking."

P. Diddy To Oversee 'Making The Band II'

Speaking strictly alphabetically, the group following in the footsteps of "Making the Band" success story O-Town would be called P-Town. And as silly as that sounds, it may be a possibility.

P. Diddy will take the reigns as Svengali for the second season of the reality series, which goes into production this month, according to an MTV spokesperson. Instead of the boy-band pop approach taken the first time around, "Making the Band II" will chronicle the career of a hip-hop R&B group, offering viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse as the group goes from auditions to being a bona fide band.

"This show will be a wild ride. No tricks or gimmicks, just P. Diddy reality," Diddy said in a statement. "I have been creating stars since I was 19, and this show will give insight into what it takes to be at the top. I'm excited to be working with MTV and doing what I love to do — create and nurture new talent."

The quest for Diddy's next new thing begins July 22 in Detroit. Auditions held there and in seven other cities will determine the 20 people who'll travel to New York to be evaluated by P. Diddy on the merits of their writing, dancing and performance skills. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

After undergoing Diddy's scrutiny, the crop will be trimmed to eight finalists, who'll live together throughout the ordeal. Diddy and select members of his Bad Boy Entertainment crew will then take the winners under their wing and provide assistance and advice on such career benchmarks as writing and recording an album, selecting a single, shooting a video and performing live.

The 10-episode season of "Making the Band II" premiers October 12.

"Once we committed to a new season of 'Making the Band,' the first person who came to mind was P. Diddy," MTV programming exec John Miller said in a statement. "He's a star maker who has created and produced numerous #1 musical acts. He is the perfect person to take 'Making the Band' to the next level. We're looking forward to debuting the next generation of 'Making the Band' and watching P. Diddy nurture and cultivate his new group."

After exposing themselves in the series' first season, O-Town sold more than 1.6 million copies of their January 2001 self-titled debut.

"Making the Band" premiered on ABC in March 2000 and moved to MTV in January.

"Making the Band II" audition dates:

* 7/22 - Detroit, MI @ The State Theater
* 7/26 - Miami, FL @ Billboard Live
* 7/29 - Atlanta, GA @ The Cotton Club
* 8/2 - Los Angeles, CA @ TBD
* 8/5 - Baltimore, MD @ TBD
* 8/6 - Washington, DC @ The VIP Club
* 8/10 - Philadelphia, PA @ TBD
* 8/11 - New York, NY @ TBD

Britney Spears: Is She -- and Teen Pop -- Over?

Britney Spears comes to the National Car Rental Center in Sunrise tonight [7/13/02] dotted with question marks. Did she and boyfriend Justin Timberlake of 'N Sync really split? Is the teen-pop craze they helped to create fading? Is she depressed?

The point of such questions, of course, is that they're being asked. True, Spears' profile at radio and on MTV has dipped. Her album sales are off substantially from the GNP-sized tallies of two years ago. The whole industry that turned puppy love into dance-pop is in the doldrums.

Teen pop "has cooled off," says Geoff Mayfield, director of sales charts at the record trade magazine Billboard. Even the members of 'N Sync, the most successful group of the genre, seem prepared to find new jobs. Joey Fatone is acting in movies. Lance Bass has announced his intention to train for a space-shuttle mission -- as if leaving Earth would give him a fresh start.

Spears, an aging pop star by teen standards, is far from gone. She keeps the tabloids curious. At 20, she is easing into movies, with one limpid drama, Crossroads, to date and a stock-car movie of some sort in the offing thanks to a media deal with NASCAR. She is still Pepsi's girl, not to mention a restaurant owner, and she had great fun at her own expense hosting Saturday Night Live -- her second time -- in February.

Add the low-key persistence of Britney, her coming-of-age-themed third album, on Billboard charts and the steady success of her 2002 tour, and predictions of a quick exit become wishful thinking. She has lasted three years in a trade that measures progress by the week, and Forbes recently named her the new No. 1 in its annual ranking of the 100 most powerful celebrities. Even Madonna, Spears' oft-cited role model, wears a Britney T-shirt in public.

"I think [Spears] has done a great job of keeping her senses about her," says Mayfield. "She doesn't mind some of the backbiting and teasing about her. She's capitalizing on it."

And she is doing so in a less hospitable climate. Two years ago, radio started backing away from what Airplay Monitor Editor in Chief Sean Ross calls "kids making music for kids." Out went airplay-dependent heartthrobs such as 98 Degrees, LFO, Aaron Carter and ATeens (the latter just canceled a show in South Florida). Album sales followed suit. And a new breed emerged to fill the vacuum: the teen singer-songwriter, a creature not trained at pop-star farms such as Disney's Mickey Mouse Club or the studio run by svengali Lou Pearlman, but wise in the ways of the candy-coated hook and as media-friendly as a Britney. These new, self-manufactured starlets include Lindsay Pagano, Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton.

During the teen-market shake-up, however, new records by the old hands still commanded attention. Britney, released in November, sold more than 700,000 copies in its first week, a drop-off from the previous disc, Oops! ... I Did It Again, but still one of the biggest opening frames ever.

There are also indications that teen-pop might spawn a second wave. One entrant, boy group B2K, has its self-titled debut on pace to sell more than 500,000 copies. The quintet has joined with kid rapper Bow Wow, who recently dropped the diminutive "Lil" from his stage name, on a nationwide tour that visits 20,000-seat AmericanAirlines Arena in September.

Other would-be contenders now step into an entrenched teen-market infrastructure. It stretches from shopping-mall tours with corporate sponsors to the Nickelodeon network's Nick Video Pick to Teen People magazine, and it searches constantly for new teen properties.

"There's always going to be a niche that you can hit with kids," says Mayfield.

The Spears tour continues to soak up their disposable income, grossing $18.9 million in ticket sales from January through June to become one of the year's biggest, according to concert trade magazine Pollstar.

"She is not on the down-slope," says Pollstar editor-in-chief Gary Bongiovanni. He adds that it's too early to say whether she will carry an audience into adulthood.

"The problem with the teen-oriented music of all eras," says Billboard's Mayfield, "is when kids hit puberty they tend to shed what they liked last week. That happened with New Kids on the Block. It happened with Kris Kross. It happened with Vanilla Ice. And if you look deeper into music history, that probably happened to a lot of others as well."

Spears is attacking that problem in two ways. One, as suggested by her recent single, I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman, is to make growing up part of the program. The other is to diversify -- into film, advertising and other ventures that could move her away from music but keep her in entertainment.

If these gambits don't work, don't feel too bad for Spears and her ilk.

"Even if all of them fall on their faces tomorrow," says Mayfield, "they've had a longer run than most."

Justin Timberlake lets music ease toll on his heart
By Jim Abbott | Sentinel Pop Music Writer

It has been a summer of transition for Justin Timberlake.

He is working on a solo album, his first material since 'N Sync announced a recording and touring hiatus in the spring. He's also putting his personal life in order after the international media frenzy over his breakup with Britney Spears. This week, the New York Post linked the singer with Janet Jackson, a report that wasn't denied by Timberlake's publicists.

The yet-to-be-titled album, expected to be ready for fall release, was recorded in Orlando, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and Virginia Beach, Va. Timberlake co-wrote all the songs with a variety of producers, but doesn't want to say much about the album's style.

"It's almost done, and I'm very happy with it," he says. "I just traveled on my own, and it was good for me to not feel like I was working. The things that have happened for me personally have definitely taken a toll on my heart. It's been really hard for me."

Timberlake will reunite with 'N Sync members Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez for the group's annual Challenge for the Children celebrity benefit weekend July 26-28 at the TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando.

Entertainers and athletes including Aaron Carter, Brian McKnight, Shannon Elizabeth, Antawn Jamison and Warren Sapp will participate in a scavenger hunt, "skills challenge" and celebrity basketball game. Proceeds benefit organizations that support children's causes ranging from educational issues to pediatric AIDS, adoption, foster care, alcohol and drug prevention programs.

Timberlake, 21, says that feedback from 'N Sync's charity work is rewarding, particularly after recent gossip about his personal life.

"It's tough when the tabloids want to print something that's not true, especially when you're going through a hard time about something that meant so much to you."

He adds that his new music has been "the most therapeutic thing I've had."

"When you see a therapist, people basically talk their problems out with a neutral party. That's kind of the way I look at my music. It's a neutral partner, and I get to say everything that's on my mind to myself and get it off my chest."

US Weekly

Heat factor: ****

The strangest and sexiest moment in Sandra Bullock's April thriller Murder By Numbers came when newcomer Ryan Gosling, 21, playing a suave young killer, pinned Bullock against a car and licked her face. The tongue action wasn't in the script, and Gosling, who came up with the idea himself, told Bullock a few moments before the scene, "I think I'm going to lick you." Afterward, Bullock told Us, "He felt every scene he did was supposed to be a kissing scene! And then he's like, 'All right, I'm gonna lick ya!'" Added the star, 37, who is 16 years older than Gosling and is now starring in Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, "Every single woman on the set had a crush" on the blond boy wonder.

A Kiss Before Dining: Now it looks like Bullock and Gosling's chemistry is just as hot offscreen. In May, the pair shared an intimate lunch at the downtown New York brasserie Pastis, including some cross-table smooching. And on May 23, during the Cannes Film Festival, they were photographed holding hands on a private balcony at the Eden Roc Hotel. Sources close to Bullock say that she and Gosling started dating about a month ago. (Her publicist didn't return calls.) "Don't say I'm sweet on her," Gosling told a reporter in April. "Say I'm taken with her."

Gosling's brushes with fame- and famous people- are nothing new. The London, Ontario native started in show business at the age of 12 in 1993 with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera on The Mickey Mouse Club- where he enjoyed a precocious reputation. "Britney and Christina would ask me questions about sex," said Gosling. "I just told them what I heard, like positions and stuff. Now, when I see Britney with that snake around her neck, I think, Did I do that?"

This new romance should squelch rumors that Bullock, who has dated Matthew McConaughey and Tate Donavan, is romantically involved with Hugh Grant, her costar in Two Weeks Notice (out in December). Unlike most stars, Grant and Bullock reveled in the rumors. "Sandy is in love with me," Grant, 41, joked last month. "But for me, it's just a sex thing."

Making Music: Bullock tells Us that she likes "any man who does something goofy and funny." She also likes musicians- and Gosling is known to be a good singer (AJ McLean once tried to recruit him for the Backstreet Boys). One thing is for sure: Bullock will have plenty of time to spend with Gosling. Though some rumors had it that she would star in a Wonder Woman feature, she recently said, "I'm going to take a year off just to think about my life."

Forecast: A May-December fling.

JC Searches For A Soulmate
From J-14

Q: What attracts you to a girl?
A: Confidence is definitely an appealing quality. I like girls who say what they mean and voice their opinions.

Q: What's the sweetest thing you've done for a girlfriend in the past?
A: I'm not flowers-and-candy guy, but the only reason I'm not like that is it's not original. I'm not Mr. Romeo who takes girls on yacht cruises, flies them on airplanes and says "Hey Baby." I like doing little things.

Q: What animal would you say you kiss like?
A: I'd have to say a fish, very open and wet. That's a good choice. There are kissing fish.

Since we brought up Blain in the post below.. yes, he is married and has 2 boys I believe. He is now in the group Shiloh with Jason Minor. The other two members Jason Fitz and Joe Zampelli grew up with Minor in Maryland and Brian comes to the group through Tony. blain goes by Jason now which makes this group of three Jasons very confusing. I got to see them perform last week in Bowie and they were amazing. They were also very nice when we got to meet them . you can hear clips of their songs and buy their 5 song cd at their website..shilohmusic.net. click on the msgboard for the info. I'll try and post some pictures in the reply

Does anyone know if justin had a secret crush on christina aguilera on the mmc. I heard that justin and britney was going out until they got into this big argument and justin called her a hoe. After that, they broke up and justin started to like christina. I honestly think that is a bunch of bull s*** (please excuse my language). I also heard that justin tounge kissed britney on the mmc.

P.S britney and justin did kiss on the mmc for a fact because the both of them said it on MTV.

Subject: Nelly Discusses Working It Out With 'NSync's Justin Timberlake

When rapper Nelly was coming up with a song for 'NSync's Justin Timberlake to do with him, he said a ditty about "diamond rings and chains and cars" just wasn't going to cut it.

"The thing is, for me, I was trying to keep Justin realistic and believable. I don't want Justin singing about my hood or about diamond rings and chains and cars because that wouldn't be believable. I wanted something he and I could feel comfortable with, and what better than girls?" explains Nelly to CDNOW's Allison Stewart in a CDNOW Interview running on Tuesday (July 2).

The song he's speaking of is "Work It" from Nelly's sophomore album, Nellyville, which was released on Tuesday (June 25). Of course, the two camps have worked together before when Nelly appeared on 'NSync's "Girlfriend," which is up for a 2002 Teen Choice Awards.

In the interview, Nelly also explains how they only had 12 hours choose the song and record it. His first impression of working with the pop band?: "I would've said, 'You're crazy.' But, I had a chance to sit down with them and chill with them and they're cool people."

Meanwhile, the Nellyville CD features access to the backstage V.I.P. area of nelly.net, where fans can play a carnival game, hear exclusive remixes of his new hit single, "Hot in Herre," and view videos.

Nelly's also slated for several television appearances in the coming days. Here's the rundown:

Friday (June 28)

NBC, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Saturday (June 29)

MTV, Nelly's Greatest MTV Moments
MTV, Hip-Hop's Sexiest Videos
MTV, MTV Jammed
BBC America, Top of the Pops

Subject: My Summary On NSYNC's Driven

You know I really enjoy watching these shows. When I saw Britney - I learned a lot. Yet it made me with she would get her damn act together because she has potential to do something good with her career. But egh.

So when I watched it last night with NSYNC - I was literally in tears. Chris' segmement. Very sad. I knew he was very poor. His mother had him when she was 16. He was ashamed. In school he didn't want to eat lunch because it required him to tell people he eat free lunch. Very low self esteem. But he wanted to be the man of the house and worked and gave his checks to his mother because he wanted to help her out. Never askign for anything. Then he went off to college and lived with his father and met people and got involved in schools. Seemed to be happier. I am glad.

Then you have JC who didn't think he was talented. Very shy and parents had to push him to do what he wanted to do because she was too nervous too. All the old family footage. Great seeing both his parents on screen talking about him. Matt Casella had nothing but kind words. It just drives me nuts that even on MMC JC felt he didn't belong. He wasn't good enough. And everyone called him Josh on the show. Very nice!

Then it went on to Justin. Lynne decribed Justin as a baby as a child who always needed space - never wanted to be touched. I can see that in him still. Justin as a child did a lot of things to get him where he is. The beauty pagent was hilarious. And he won!! He totally was crying - very cute. Show him on star search and imitating NKOTB with his bestfriend Trace at age 7. Matt Casella talked about how Justin blew him away in the auditions. He sung "When A Man Loves A Woman " and to quote Mr. Casella "He sant the shit out that song!". Ha Ha. Jennifer McGill was on there. VERY red hair. She talked about how it was hard for MMCers to adjust after the show.

Joey was the next one. His family is too funny. Very musical people. Very close. Talked and showed old footage of him as a child. His father at one point even broke down crying because he felt he never gave Joey enought credit. Jennife was in this segment too because she and Joey went to the same highschool and were very good friends. They did a lot of school plays together. They went to the prom together. Seeing Joey on stage - wow. He was born for Broadway. I seriously wish him all the luck doing "RENT".

The show then took off about how Chris met Lou and how he told him that if he put a group together, he would finance them. So Chris got in contact with a vocal coach - who gave him Justin. Of course then JC was connected because of Justin. Chris auditioned them both - they got in. Joey was discovered because Lou saw is 'Beatlejuice' show and was looking at the cast. Joey stood out and Justin went and talked him into auditoning. He got it. Then the lost member - Jason. He was a friend of Joey's. They talked too him. Very smug. That 'I didn't care for THAT music or being a 'teen idol' attitude. It was kinda nasty. I think the lord for Lance!

Then of course there is Lance. His segment was very cute. Country boy doing the dance fair and competiton with his dance group. His mom talked about how she didn't want him doing NSYNC. Lynn Harless had to basically stalk her on the phone to get her to listen. So people told her to "Let Lance Go!" and she gave him the chance. He went. He met them and bam! There was NSYNC!

The show them got into how they basically were put into a house and talk the ways of the business. They worked 24/7. They went to soo many labels but no one was caring because they felt that one boyband (BSB) were enough. So they went to overseas labels and one was interested - but they had to make some changes if they wanted to get signed. One change was they had to get rid of the name 'NSYNC. The other - Lance. So of of course they were like "Hellz No!". They signed without making changes. The very first people to see NSYNC perform were MMC fans. They used the fan mail letters for Justin and JC and they took the addresses and made flyers and were like "Come see their new group!". Coolios.

From there the show really went into how hard it was for them overseas. They did everything they could to, on every show. Did't care how cheesy it was. They were there putting out their name. They performed in the back on Walmarts. Everything. Their biggest break was of course Disney. They did that concert and their album sales skyrocketed. They were now household names. BSB and NSYNC were on the same level. They even showed their basketball game. Ha Ha.

Then the downfall. The lawsuit. Very grueling, but of course they won. They signed to JIVE. Showed them in court and the newscasts. How they kicked some major ass in sales for NSA - 2.4 millon. Amazing. Just how driven there were. They worked their asses off. They had to start their careers over 3 times basically and they always came back stronger!

I am now waiting to see the Driven of Christina Aguilera. You know eventhough I like some MMCers more than others. I am extremely proud of ALL of them. I look back at tapes and I am in awe. These are the same kids - all grown up taking the world by storm. Very cool!

I mean, it really is a small world...

Today one of my best friends e-mails me from Austin saying that her boyfriend (that I have only met a couple of times since we graduated) is really good friends with the Pampolinas, especially Damon, this guy who was on the Mickey Mouse Club. Of course, she knows my obsession and freaked out because she had been hanging out with him. She didn't realize that he was on any show until this past weekend he was showing them tapes of his days on (as she put it) "some group that I don't remember the name of." So, I thought that was pretty crazy and asked her what he was up to. She said this:

"He is out DJ'ing in LA right now - having a hard time and doesn't want to come back to ClearLake because that would be like giving up, but I think he really wants to - especially now that his older sister is getting married. Their family is so tight and close - they even told me what Catholic church to go to when I visit Brad. Yes, The Party, that's right - isn't that funny!! He is so sweet and has been visiting his parents in ClearLake alot more recently. He has crazy stories about LA."

Then, she told me that she wants his dad to be the DJ at their wedding, (they're not engaged yet), but when this happens, I promise pics.

Weird...

By JESSE McKINLEY

In a move likely to thrill untold scores of teenage girls as well as a handful of Broadway producers, Joey Fatone, a member of the multiplatinum boy band 'N Sync, will join the cast of the long-running musical "Rent" next month, its producers said yesterday.

Mr. Fatone, 25, will be making his Broadway debut in the role of Mark, a struggling video artist who acts as the musical's narrator and its moral compass. Mr. Fatone's first performance is set for Aug. 5; he is to stay with the show through Dec. 22. He began rehearsals yesterday at a studio in Midtown Manhattan, though producers were loath to say exactly where, for fear of screaming, rehearsal-interrupting fans.

On a break from rehearsal, Mr. Fatone said he had wanted to do a Broadway show since high school, when he performed in several musicals. So when he had a gap in his schedule — the band's last tour ended in April and his bandmate Lance Bass is training for a potential space mission — Mr. Fatone decided to audition. "It's just a cutting edge kind of thing," Mr. Fatone said of "Rent," adding that he had also considered auditioning for "Beauty and the Beast," the Disney musical. "It's nice to have a chance to play a character, not just be myself."

"Rent," a modern retelling of "La Bohčme" set in the arty grottoes of the Lower East Side, was written by the composer Jonathan Larson and won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1996. It has been running at the Nederlander Theater for more than six years.

Since moving to Broadway, the production has grossed approximately $125 million, and even more than that from its national tours and international productions. And while the show's sales have slowed in recent years, producers hope Mr. Fatone will tap into a whole new audience for the production.

"It's one of those wonderful things where both parties wanted it to happen," said Kevin McCollum, one of the show's producers. "When things are mutual, it doesn't take long to make a deal."

'Pearl' Jam

Aaron Carter sues Lou Pearlman for ''racketeering.'' Nick's little bro is the latest artist to sue the pop Svengali by Brian Hiatt

Tween favorite singer Aaron Carter doesn't just want candy -- he wants his royalties. The 14-year-old pop moppet filed a lawsuit this week accusing former manager Lou Pearlman of failing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars he's owed, according to court papers. The suit ups the ante by citing Pearlman's ''fraudulent'' contracts with 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys (which includes Aaron's brother Nick) in an effort to prove that Pearlman is involved in ''a pattern of criminal activity'' that makes him a racketeer. If a jury agrees, Pearlman's potential penalties could be tripled, according to the suit.

A spokesperson for Pearlman's label, Trans Continental, told the St. Petersburg Times that the label doesn't owe Carter any money, but declined to comment on the rest of the lawsuit. 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys each filed and then settled similar suits against Pearlman, minus the racketeering charges. He was a pivotal force in the early years of both groups, and subsequently assembled O-Town, as chronicled on ABC's ''Making the Band.'' Pearlman and O-Town managed to part ways without anyone resorting to a lawsuit. Yet.

Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys Party Up For 'Impossible'

Alicia Keys has promised to deliver "pimped-out vocals" from Christina Aguilera on "Impossible," a track she co-produced for Aguilera's upcoming album.

On day three of their sessions at New York's Electric Lady studios last month, Aguilera wasn't looking like the "big ol' pimp" Keys was boasting her to be. There was no diamond-encrusted gold goblet or neon three-piece suit with the matching hat and 'gators. X-tina just sported a cutoff Terry Bradshaw Pittsburgh Steelers jersey, though her white undershirt did match her pink and white scarf.

Aguilera's nose was stuffy, her eyes were puffy and she was coughing. Obviously her cold didn't have her much into a game-spitting mood — not that she would've been wasting time shooting the breeze if she were the perfect picture of health. Aguilera was ready to get down to business and finish the track, which was being produced by the Crucial Keys team of Alicia and her partner, Kerry Brothers.

"I like the piano," a giddy Aguilera said of the slow, chord-driven track Keys devised to complement her big voice. "Now I gotta learn how to play. You inspire [me]."

Looking low-key in sunshades, a scarf and a leather jacket, Keys returned the compliment. "I like them vocals," she said. "We're smashing. Official killer. 'Killer Chris!' "

A few minutes later, Keys, who was orchestrating the session when she wasn't laying background vocals or harmonizing with her collaborator, sat intently at the boards listening to K.C. finish the second verse.

" 'It's impossible to make it easy if you're always trying to make it so damn haaarrrd,' " the 22-year-old sang. " 'How can I, how can I give you all my love, baby/ If you're always, always putting up your guaaarrrd/ This is not a circus, don'tcha play me for a clown.' "

Keys and Aguilera have been wanting to work together for a while, Keys said. Keys wrote the new cut, but not before the Grammy Award-winners had a chance to vibe off each other — they hung out and partied before Keys penned the track.

A tentative September 17 release date has been set for Aguilera's still-untitled album, which is the proper follow-up to her 1999 self-titled debut.

For a feature interview with Christina Aguilera in the studio, check out "Christina Aguilera: Not Your Puppet."

Okay in the past 6 months I've dropped about 40 pounds. I didn't think I looked fat before. I'm actually a lot heavier than I look. I think it's cuz I have big bones (<i>I'm not fat, I'm big bone-ded!!!</i>).

So anyway, I lose all this weight and people have been telling me how good I look, calling me "Skinny Minnie;" my Mom's classic line, "You don't look so fat;" and the ever popular, "You look great. Why don't you have a boyfriend?" And one person even told me I was beautiful. Nice compliments, huh? NOT!!! Those are the biggest insults I've ever heard!! If I'm so beautiful now, what the hell did I look like before??? Here I was 40 pounds heavier thinking, "Wow, I carry my weight well." Little did I know I was this big, ugly, fat pig. I thought losing a little weight would improve my self esteem. Now, I feel worse than I did before. I know those people mean no harm and I appreciate the fact that my weight loss has not gone unnoticed, but I can't help but feel a little bad. Yeah, I'm feeling bad all the way to the 5-7-9 store!!! LOL!!!!

Pathetic Fans Attempt To Jumpstart JC Chasez's Career

Dozens of fans from the JJB board bombarded this site with reports that Britney Spears had rebounded from her Justin Timberlake romance with fellow *NSYNC'er JC Chasez. The incident started after JayneOC posted in one of her 29,525 posts, "Someone start a JC/Britney rumor. Let's see if MTV and popdirt pick it up."

------------------------------------------------------------
worldofbritney.com

Jayne O'Connor who posts a lot on JJB* is trying to 'jump start' JC Chasez's career by starting a rumor about him and Britney. She sent it to Popdirt and they posted it. Now she wants someone to send it to you so you post it on your site.

Just thought I would let you know. She is totally obsessed with JC and hates Britney. She is the starter of the B.A.D.S. post that constantly criticizes Britney at JJB.

She started a rumor several months ago on Popdirt about JC being considered for a role in the Broadway play 'Rent'.

If you give her rumor any coverage at all, you will just make her ridicule you to her pals on JJB.

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Nickelodeon's popular sketch show "All That" is adding an eighth cast member for the upcoming season, and you may have heard her name.

Or at least her last name. Jamie Lynn Spears, the 11-year-old sister of Britney Spears, will join the seven other kids in the cast beginning this fall. Production on the new season starts this week.

"All That" has been on Nick for seven seasons, acting as a kids' version of "Saturday Night Live." The show has launched the careers of Nick Cannon ("Men in Black II" ), Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell ("Good Burger" ) and Amanda Bynes, who stars in the upcoming WB comedy "What I Like About You."

Jamie Lynn Spears has appeared on camera before -- she had a cameo in Britney's movie "Crossroads" and on her sister's HBO concert special last year. Jamie Lynn also seems to be following a similar path to that of her pop-star sister, who first appeared on "The Mickey Mouse Club."

Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter..
So thanks for making me a FIGHTER!..

Never saw it coming..
All of your backstabbing..
Just so, you could cash in on a good thing before I realized your game
I heard..
Your going around (playing) the victim now
But don't..
Even begin feelin' i'm the one to blame 'cuz you dug your own grave (un huh)
After all of the fights and the lies yes you wanted to harm me but that wont work anymore..(no more..no no..its..over)
Cuz if it wasn't for all of your torture I wouldn't know how to be this renowned and never back down..

*CHORUS
'Cuz it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a FIGHTER!
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter..
So thanks for making me a FIGHTER!..

--- I really like the lyrics and the message. Her voice sounds great. Don't care for the way it was put together. Overall. I can't wait for her album.

I just finished watching Summer Music Mania that aired last week. I couldn't tell you who performed and who said what, but I can definitely talk for hours about how good JC looked. Dayum!!!!! At first glance he looked a lot like Tony. It was kinda freaky. JC needs to wear glasses more often. I don't know what it is about men in glasses but I it's sooooo sexy. Yummy!!

Oh, and JC should never stand next to Jennifer Love Hewitt ever again. Their legs are the exact same size, LOL!!!

The quality is low so you'll have to turn the volume up. It's also on Angelfire, so you'll have to copy and paste the link.

True Brit

Britney Spears is expecting company, but when the doorbell rings the Mousketeer turned pop star nonpareil is in one of her favorite places - bed - performing one of her few talents never seen by an audience or caught on camera by MTV: She's sleeping. Apparently fame can be exhausting, even for a 20-year-old.

Britney, who flew in late last night from Tokyo, is a renowned z-cather, which led the National Sleep Foundation to celebrate her as one of the country's most "successful sleepers" (among her less lauded titles: unofficial "messenger" for National Sleep Awareness Week). She can do it anytime, anywhere - on planes, trains, and tour buses. But it's here at the family home she had built in Kentwood, La. (population: 2, 500), in her mother's four-poster bed that she finds the deepest sleep of all. "It's so peaceful," she will later say. "It's my favorite room in the house." Keeping their voices down so they don't wake her, Britney's mother, Lynne, her aunt Sandra, and bodyguard, Rob, a 320-pound fixture in her life who sees more of "Brit" than he family does - mill about the cozy country-style kitchen, chatting, drinking freshly brewed coffee, and nibbling on pound cake still warm from the oven. On the wall by the table hangs a framed needlepoint of the Serenity Prayer next to a three-foot wooden crucifix. "We really have been blessed," says Lynne, sitting in her well-worn wicker love seat by the window. The former second-grad teacher has just gotten the new that her younger daughter, Jamie Lynn, 11, has been cast in a Nickelodeon show. Another star is born. And, if she's as successful as her sister, another tabloid stable. The coverage of Britney and 'N Sync singer Justin Timberlake's relationship - perhaps best described as on-again, off-again, oops, they did it again - seemed to rival that of Enron in column inches. Lynne sighs: "Actually I think the tabloids are making Justin out to be the dirty dawg in all this. So that's good."

The next day, Britney appears poolside in her backyard, smiling, no worse for the wear of performing a concert halfway around the world for 60,000 screaming Japanese fans (one of her largest audiences ever). This summer she'll finish her tour for Britney, her third multiplatinum CD. Then she'll be promoting Austin Powers in Goldmember (she plays herself in a cameo role, and Mike Myers, in an e-mail dashed off from the sent, praises the "great comedy sense" she brings to it), opening a new restaurant in Manhattan, and endorsing a line of Skecher roller skates. But for the next two weeks her only job is to enjoy the new four-bedroom- Tudor-style home she built on a 7.5-acre estate a few miles from the house where she grew up. I've just gotten to the point where I can really allow myself to relax," says Britney, who earned almost $40 million last year and ranked fourth on the Forbes list of the world's most powerful celebrities. (Oprah came in at No. 9.) "The other day I was in my room, and I was like, 'I'm bored. This is what it's like to be bored!' And it was kind of cool. But I think it will only last for a week or two."
A breeze sounds the wind chimes hanging in the backyard, a multilevel tangle of flowers and trees that features a fountain and a free-form pool. Weather forecasters have predicted record-breaking heat today, making the water seem that much more inviting. Sitting on the patio while her white teacup poodle, Lady - whose nails are painted the same shade of bright pink as the bows in her hair - runs around in the grass, Britney points a French-manicured finger toward one end of the pool, and says, "There's a shallow area, and you can lie out on top of it - half your body is in the water, half your body is out. That was my idea. I could live in the sun."
Which she does - and quite well - figuratively speaking. The former Star Search winners is the only female singer in history to have her first three albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. (Sales total $46 million worldwide.) And then there are those video-genetic features; wide-set eyes the color of Hershey's Kisses and full lips, which today are shining with gloss. Her caramel-colored skin is offset by a white spaghetti-strap top and sweats hung low enough to reveal a G-string and the tattoo of the Chinese symbol for 'mysterious." Another tattoo - a ring of flowers - encircles one of her bare toes. She doesn't know it yet, but she has made the papers again today, caught smoking a cigarette on the balcony in Australia by a long-lens camera. She is so busted. "I'm sad, I'm sad, man," Britney says when she's told, trying not to smile. "Uh, I don't have a recollection of me ever doing that. I'll have to see the picture."
Lifting herself from a wought-iron chair, Britney grabs her Pepsi, dispensed from her very own vending machine, and heads into the house. "I don't drink only Pepsi," says the company's multimillion-dollar spokeswoman. A coy smile: "Sometimes I drink other things." More thoughtfully she adds, "I think if you do something in moderation, it's OK. The only thing I'm addicted to is taking baths at night" But while she might indulge in the occasional cosmopolitan or Midori sour - "I don't know what's in them, but they sure taste good" - don't believe everything you read, even if it is accompanied by a picture of her hanging out the window of a moving car. Says Lynne, "A girlfriend and I walked into Wal-Mart one day and she said, 'Oh, my gosh. Look at this Lynne. They're talking about how drunk Britney is over in Europe!' Britney is holding a [nonalcoholic] Red Bull in her hand. Oh, Lord. I laughed at it. I was a youth once upon a time myself." Lynne adds, "I'd go out with my friends and play foosball and have some drinks. I mean, we've all been there."
But we haven't all been under the scrutiny Britney has, especially where her love life is concerned. Britney and Justin, who met as Mousketeers, were romantically involved for more than two years before breaking up (for the first time, anyway) last March. "We're climbing two different mountains. His priorities are different from mine right now," Britney says philosophically. But she can't escape the constant reminders. "You go out to a club, and people say, 'Are you fine? Are you fine?' And it's like, 'I'm here, aren't I?'" Another option occurs to her: "What if I was some weakling and I was like, "Whaaa!' Crying!" She breaks into laughter.
Not long after she decided to try the let's-just-be-friends thing - "It wasn't a bad breakup," Britney says. "We still talk all the time" - Timberlake was photographed in a Hollywood club with a brunette. "Of course it's gonna kind of hurt sometimes, and you wonder things," she says, recalling the picture. "But you learn from it and grow. I'm trying to get to that point." She flashes a "show must go on" smile. Nigel @#%$, who directed four of Britney's music videos, says, "I really feel for her. She can't do anything without a 1,000 mm lens in her face. It's the deal stars make with the devil."
In fact, not since Brooke Shields has anyone been put under such an intense virginity watch, prompted by Britney's claim to a reporter in 1999 that she would remain chaste until her wedding day. "What's the big deal?" she asks, getting riled up. "I find it interesting that everyone finds it so interesting. It's bizarre." Her way of coping is to try to disconnect herself from her persona. "I'm in complete denial that I am 'Britney Spears,'" she says, making quotation marks with her fingers. "Do you understand what I'm sayin'? I'm just a human being." Says @#%$, "When I met Britney she wasn't a prima donna-ish kid who thought she was already a superstar. She was 16 going on 16, not 16 going on 35."
Now she's going on 21, but she still lives at home, albeit one that's the envy of Kentwood. Walking through the soaring ceiling living room with it's overstuffed cream-colored sofas, Britney explains how she and Lynne decorated it together. "My mom did almost everything in the house but the bedrooms - that was all me." Everywhere you look are pictures of Britney, Jamie Lynn and older brother, Bryan, who works for a computer company and lives in Britney's Manhattan loft. Lynne's bedroom is teeming with them, including a poster-size MTV promotional portrait of Britney dressed up as Violetta from Verdi's opera La Traviata. But it's not just photos that are here with her mother each night. Says Britney, "The bed's not that big, but I will sleep in it with my mom and my little sister." Her father, Jamie, a contractor, lives in the family's old house. "We moved out, and we felt bad just leaving the house by itself like that," the singer explains. "And my dad had this idea of redoing the whole thing his way. We think in three months or so, when they get finished, he might come with us." Lynne notes, "Everything about us is unconventional."
Walking up the winding staircase, Britney goes straight for the walkin-closet in her bedroom, which reveals that in at least one regard she really is just like a normal 20-year-old: It's a mess. The shelves are piled with hats in every shape and color. one wall is a rack of white plastic hangers sagging under the weight of blue jeans, the rarest of which is a pair that once belonged to another media-hounded sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe. They were a gift from her accountant, who purchased them at auction; Britney has never worn them. "Her hips were very big and her waist was petite," she explains. "I was thinking about doing something to them so they would fit me - like cutting the waist off -and then I thought I can't mess with her jeans!"
Among Britney's other prized possessions: the scores of fairies she has collected (her first tattoo, in the small of her back, was a fairy) - including a well-known painting of one by symbolist artist Edward Robert Hughes. "Justin gave me that last Christmas," she says softly. But there are hints that she's not really that innocent. Draped over a handle of her dresser is a pair of little pillows attached to a satin ribbon - one says "naughty," the other, "nice." On the nightstand sit a copy of the PG loves story A Walk to Remember and a bodice-ripper titled Seduction by Design.
For now it seems that when Britney needs a romance fix, she turns to fiction "I'm just starting to get the knack of being single, because ever since I was 15, I've been in a serious relationship. I haven't done the dating thing yet," she says. "I'm the type of person who can't go from a serious relationship and then be like, "Oh, I'm just going to date some guy.'" There is someone Britney wouldn't mind spending time with: "Hugh Grant is so cute!" she says. "I think he's the hottest thing in the world. Hello!' And yet regardless of her new infatuation - or any old ones - Spears won't be losing beauty rest over anyone. Just ask the National Sleep Foundation.

Britney Races into NASCAR Flick
by Joal Ryan

Ever sit on the couch on your porch on a Sunday morning, unable to decide if you and your cousins should spend the day watching Britney Spears videos or catching the latest NASCAR race?

Have we got a movie deal for you.

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (aka NASCAR) and Britney Spears Productions (aka guess who?) today announced plans for a "dramatic feature film" to star the 20-year-old popster to be set in the burn-rubber world of stock-car racing.

The flick is the first for Spears' self-titled production company. It's also the first to be sanctioned by NASCAR.

While Tom Cruise's 1990 ode to the Daytona 500 crowd, Days of Thunder, got a lot of assists from the racing world and featured cameos by several drivers (including track icon Richard Petty), it wasn't made with NASCAR as a producing partner.

The Spears-NASCAR flick will tell the tale of a race-team owner's daughter (read: Britney) who "uses her knowledge and experience in the family business" to coax a retired driver to return to the circuit, presumably for One Last Big Race!

In its press release announcing the film, NASCAR went out of its way to note that Spears will not play a driver herself. (Well, the tracksuits are so confining and non-midriff-baring...)

The film is expected to feature footage of real races, as well as real drivers and, yes, even real team owners! Can real tobacco-chewing scenes be far behind? We think not.

"Our goal is to create a film that honestly portrays the spirit of NASCAR," Ann Carli of Britney Spears Productions said in a statement.

James V. Hart will pen the script. Based on his résumé, Hart should have little trouble blending the worlds of Spears and stock cars. This being, after all, a man who's written everything from Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula remake to Muppet Treasure Island.

No word yet on a director, a title, a planned release date or a planned start date.

We do know the boa-charming crooner will be tied up with her pop-star life through July 22 when her current U.S. tour is scheduled to wrap in Dallas--power outages like the one that cut short a gig in Lubbock, Texas, Friday night, notwithstanding.

Justin Timberlake's ex made her film debut earlier this year in the coming-of-age road-tripping comedy-drama Crossroads. The movie wasn't exactly embraced by critics (or, judging by its $37 million take at the U.S. box office, audiences), but it was far from an outright Glitter bomb. In fact, in several reviews Spears' performance was even judged better than the movie itself.

The Britster's NASCAR credentials go back to her birthright: She's a Louisiana native, home to the Bayou Speedway and countless Winston Cup aficionados.

Spears also served as grand marshal for NASCAR's Pepsi 400 race in 2001.

With her neatly curled coif and honey-dipped southern drawl, retired real estate agent Sadie Bomar hardly seems like a power player in the game of love. But the 69-year-old grandmother of pop star Justin Timberlake just may hold the secret to her grandson's heart. "He always calls me when he's coming home and says, 'Granny, please don't forget my peach cobbler!' " says Bomar, who lives next door to Timberlake's mom and stepdad in Millington, Tenn. After delivering a batch to him in '00, "he hid it on his tour bus," she recalls. Bomar's only request? That he return her favorite casserole dish. "He brought it back to me a month later," she says. "He's a very thoughtful boy."
Thoughtful? Absolutely. But a boy? Think again, Granny. At 21, the 'N Sync heartthrob is finally stepping out on his own, with a new album -- his first-ever solo effort -- and a newfound freedom: bachelorhood. After seven years as the hottest 'N Syncer and three as Britney Spears's boyfriend, Timberlake is now, well, Just Justin. Which suits him just fine. "Right now I want to enjoy life," he declares. Holed up in a studio in Virginia Beach, Va., where he is recording the new album, Timberlake says he wrote the songs to reflect his growing independence. "I'm throwing it out there, seeing what happens," he says. "I'm testing the water, man."

When it comes to diving back into the dating pool, though, Timberlake is still getting his size-11 feet wet. Less than six months after his split from Spears, 20, Timberlake still can't bring himself to utter the words "break up." "It hurts too bad to say it," he says. Actually doing it has been even worse: "You get to a point where you're crying yourself to sleep at night." Given the scrutiny surrounding their relationship, "I feel like I'm in the middle of a soap opera. I honestly know what it's like to have a broken heart now."

And don't listen to the reconciliation rumors. For the time being, at least, the 6'1" Timberlake says he is definitively unattached. Even so, he says, "I love Britney, and I'll always love her."

So what went wrong? Blame the usual suspects: youth, distance and competing careers. "You can't have a real relationship when you see each other only two days a month," says Timberlake's mother, Lynn Harless, 41. Timberlake, who calls the breakup "mutual," agrees, noting that his priorities are shifting. "I just want to focus on my career," he says. "I want to enjoy the simple things. I want to take three days off when I want to, not when it's on my calendar. I want to go run in the park with my sweats on because I can. That's where I'm at right now."
Although still nursing his wounds, he has not allowed a broken heart to get in the way of a good time. Since splitting from Spears, Timberlake has hit the dance floor on both coasts -- sparking romance rumors in April after a particularly close encounter with 'N Sync dancer Jenna Dewan, 21. (For the record: "I haven't been with anyone,"he says. "Not a date, not a kiss.") And during the group's recent tour, Timberlake partied almost nightly with his bandmates and visited the strip-club circuit. A little post-Britney debauchery? You bet. After the strain of maintaining a long-distance relationship, "that's when it's time to take a break and sow your oats," he says. "It's part of being 21."

Those close to him, however, say that beneath the single-guy bravura, Timberlake is still a one-woman man. "Ever since I've known him, he's always had somebody," notes fellow 'N Syncer Lance Bass, 23, who first met a 14-year-old Timberlake in 1995. "That says he doesn't enjoy the chase that much."

Timberlake himself confirms that sentiment. "I never liked dating in the first place," he says. "I believe it's about four to six weeks of somebody acting like somebody they're really not. And you start to see the real them and you're like, 'Whoa! Where did you come from?' " Still, he does have his preferences. "He always said he was a butt man," says his mom with a laugh. Of course, "a good vibe and a big heart" also help, says Timberlake. Adds Bass: "He's a great flirt. He knows how to make girls laugh."

And how to make them swoon. A self-described "hopeless romantic" who lights candles in his hotel rooms wherever he goes and revels in the old-fashioned bathtub he had installed in his Orlando home, Timberlake has displayed a flair for the grand gesture since before he was old enough to drive. His mom recalls an adolescent Justin wooing a girlfriend with a carefully planned picnic. "He bought a bottle of sparkling grape juice, Alfredo pasta and fixed up a basket," says Harless. "He's thoughtful about trying to surprise people."
She should know. "When he was little, I used to say, 'Justin, someday when you get rich and famous, will you buy me a Harley?' " recalls his mom. (She and Justin's father, Randall Timberlake, 42, divorced when Justin was 3.) "It was just a joke between us." Gotcha, Mom: Several Christmases ago, when Timberlake cashed his first big 'N Sync paycheck, he surprised his mother with a jewelry box. Inside? The keys to her very own hog.

Of course, Timberlake reserved his most romantic surprises for Spears. "My head spun," he says of their first meeting as costars on The Mickey Mouse Club in '93. They reunited in '98 when Spears appeared as an opening act for 'N Sync. By the time their relationship was in full swing, Timberlake had traded grape juice for more elaborate overtures. On Valentine's Day, 2000, "we were rehearsing, and one dude comes in and reads a really nice note to Britney from Justin," recalls choreographer and producer Wade Robson, 19, a friend of both stars. "We thought it was going to end there, when all of a sudden a five-piece band comes in and plays Michael Jackson's 'The Lady in My Life.' That's typical Justin."

Growing up in Millington, Timberlake honed his yes-ma'am manners early on. "I've never seen Justin sit down and eat -- even a sandwich -- without saying grace first," says his grandmother. Five years old when his mother got remarried, to banker Paul Harless, 44, Timberlake and his stepfather forged a tight bond. His dad eventually remarried and had two more children -- Jonathan, 8, and Stephen, 3 -- and both families now live within five miles of each other. "He's talked to me about how he really hopes his daddy is there for his brothers," says his mother. "He's thought about what kind of father he wants to be."

But fatherhood can wait. For now, Timberlake -- who began taking voice lessons at age 8 and has been working steadily since his Mouseketeer days -- is having too much fun indulging his childhood fantasies. "Y'know what? You'd think we're 13 when we're together with all our toys," says R&B singer Brian McKnight, 33, a pal since the mid-'90s. "The thing is, we've got grown-up toys now." No kidding. Timberlake's car collection includes three Mercedes, two Cadillac Escalades, an Audi TT, a Dodge Viper, a BMW and a Porsche, plus five motorcycles and three Sea-Doos.
Did we mention the toy room? An avid basketball and video-game player, Timberlake's three-bedroom Orlando pad features a fun zone complete with pinball machine, Xbox and PlayStation. He also invites friends for weekly matches of Cranium and charades. "You want him to be on your team," says pal Robson. "He's quick."

Claiming not to have inherited his granny's kitchen skills -- "I can cook a mean Pop-Tart," he says with a laugh -- Timberlake instead spends time on the putting green he recently had installed in his backyard. "I took up golf last year and I love it," he says.

Not that he'll be trading his hip-hop look for PGA-approved duds anytime soon. With five tattoos and counting, "he comes home and says, 'Look what I did!' " says his mom. His approach to grooming is far less spontaneous. "He'll take an hour to get ready," says Bass. "Everything has to be perfect, especially his hair."
Ah, The Hair. Since achieving stardom, Timberlake's blond curls -- now shorn -- have been more closely scrutinized than his ex-girlfriend's navel. "When he had curly hair, we'd joke around with him, like, 'Uh-oh! Curl No. 66 is out of place!' " says Bass. "He wants to make sure he looks good."

That perfectionist streak can sometimes lead to a temper, says his mom, who acknowledges, "he can be moody, mostly when it comes to his work. "Nonetheless, "he's not a grudge holder," says Robson.

Clearly that seems to be the case with his famous ex. "I still talk to her on the phone," says Timberlake. "I hold her in the highest light." Despite the split, "he's like a member of our family," says Spears's father, Jamie, 49, who lives in Kentwood, La. "He's a good kid."

Make that a man -- and one who is unlikely to be single for long. "I think he'll be a very loving husband, and when he makes the commitment, that will be it," says his grandmother. "For that reason, I'd like him to take his time and be sure of everything."

Justin Timberlake hopes he and his fans can strike a chord with Congress about music education.

The 'NSYNC-er and his Justin Timberlake Foundation have teamed with the American Music Conference to ask congressional representatives to get involved with music programs in schools, according to a spokesperson for Timberlake's organization, whose mission is to promote music education as an essential element of a child's development.

As part of the campaign, which launched Wednesday, people are directed to AMC's Web site (www.amc-music.org) to obtain information on what they can do for the cause and asked to sign a petition that will be sent to Congress on June 30.

"Everyone knows how important music is to me, but this issue goes beyond performing and recording," Timberlake said in a statement. "This is about an opportunity that every young person should enjoy, no matter what career they aspire to. I want to do everything I can to make sure other people can benefit from music education."

So far, 3,700 people have signed the petition, according to the spokesperson.

Thought I would share a random cute moment. I'm an IA at an elementary school and in one of the second grade classes I work with, two of the boys were singing "I'm a genie in a bottle baby." Those were the only words they knew and they kept doing the hand motions. Whenever the kids misbehave, they get a yellow card. Anyways, after Carlos sang that genie line for like the billionth time another little boy Cesar said "That's by Christine Gorilla." I was LMAO, and it caused one of the little girls, Alexa, to come over and tell me that I needed a yellow card.

Needless to say, this amused me nearly as much as the time another of my students Jennifer commented on Justin's hair, remarking that "His head is all furry."

Britney is sued for copyright infringement. Two songwriters claim she lifted two tunes on ''Oops! ... I Did It Again'' by Gary Susman

She did it again. So claim a pair of Philadelphia songwriters, who are suing Britney Spears because, they allege, she ripped off one of their songs, not once but twice.

Michael Cottrill and Lawrence Wnukowski filed a copyright-infringement suit in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia on Friday, claiming that they sent Spears' representatives a song called ''What You See Is What You Get'' in late 1999. They say that they were told the song was rejected, but in 2000, Spears released the album ''Oops!... I Did It Again,'' containing the songs ''What U See (Is What U Get)'' and ''Can't Make You Love Me,'' both of which, the plaintiffs contend, were ''virtually identical'' to their song. Each of Spears' tunes was credited to several of the producers at Sweden's Cheiron Studios, the hitmaking factory behind smashes by Spears, 'N Sync, and the Backstreet Boys.

Named as defendants in the suit were Spears, Jive Records, Zomba Recording Corp. (Jive's parent company), Wright Entertainment Group (her manager), and BMG Music Publishing (the copyright holder of Spears' songs). None of them has commented on the suit.

Fred Durst Gets Down To Dissing Filter Frontman, Christina Aguilera

Limp Bizkit frontman tears into Richard Patrick about Filter singer's year-old comments.

By Jon Wiederhorn

Right after September 11, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst was as shaken up as most everyone else in America, and declared that the catastrophe had caused him to re-evaluate his priorities. The most important thing, he determined, was — in the words of Ozzy — to learn how to love and forget how to hate.

"I've had my problems with whoever I've had them with," he said in the wake of the tragedy. "All my differences are gone now. And now is the time to give up hatred, give up grudges, give up differences because it's not worth it."

As 9/11 fades further into the past and the stinging pain starts to subside, Durst seems to be returning to some of the "hatorade" that fueled his diet when he dissed Creed's Scott Stapp, butted heads with Mos Def and chewed out Taproot frontman Stephen Richards in a now-legendary answering machine message. The Bizkit singer has recently traded words with former guitarist Wes Borland, and is now exchanging even more irascible sentiments with Filter frontman Richard Patrick.

In an interview in the July issue of "Playboy," Durst badmouths Patrick in response to comments Patrick made over a year ago criticizing Durst's decision to jump onstage with Christina Aguilera at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

"Patrick was like, 'Fred f---ing ruined the credibility of rock and roll.' F---ing a--hole," Durst told the mag. "I took his ass on the Family Values Tour when no one wanted me to. I believed in his record. That guy's an ungrateful sack of sh--. It's bullsh-- the way some people are so two-faced. How did I ruin rock and roll?" In response to Durst's comments, Patrick posted a rebuttal on the official Filter Web site.

"It seems Fred Durst and I have a little problem," began the garrulous singer. "I'm a little offended. Fred, I hate to say this, but you need psychiatric help. Everyone that is good, you sh-- on."

Patrick wrote that Durst was responsible for guitarist Wes Borland's decision to quit Limp Bizkit last year.

"You think the world is according to Fred Durst and Fred Durst alone, and that's why Wes (the main musical genius of Limp Bizkit) left you. If you e-mail me, I would be proud to find doctors that specialize in psychiatric help for you. Mental illness is nothing to be laughed at, and you're obviously suffering from some serious bitterness or clinical depression towards the world."

Not one to turn his back on a spar — unless it involves Stapp and a boxing ring — Durst responded to Patrick's jabs in a Tuesday (June 4) post on the Limp Bizkit site. He framed the message as a personal letter to Patrick.

"Dear Rich," Durst began. "I cannot believe how you are acting. It hurts to know you disregard the other musical talents in our band such as Lethal, John, Sam and myself."

Then, Durst replied to Patrick's recommendation to seek mental counseling: "As for help, I need all I can get. You could obviously use some yourself."

Durst closed off the note by insisting he's still a Filter fan and re-emphasizing the need to put needless beefs aside.

"I love you and your music and really love your new album, but come on man. Is [sic] stabs at me really what's going on? You took stabs at us in the press before — me I meant. I won't take this as a bad thing, but dude we don't need this tension in our world today. We have to be a family. I can believe you wrote this because of things you've said before, but I can't believe you didn't check with me first."

In addition to taking shots at Patrick in the "Playboy" interview, Durst badmouths MTV's Kurt Loder, Trent Reznor and especially Aguilera in the magazine.

"She's an ungrateful, spoiled-rotten f---ing a--hole ... She's so talented, but she doesn't see what's in front of her because she's so young and dumb. F--- her man, I don't respect her."

Happy 20th Birthday, Walt Disney World! Plus- TEEN BEAT talks to Mousketeers Marc Worden and Mylin Brooks at the Disney/MGM Studios!

After rubbing elbows with the President, Teen Beat next met with two Mickey Mouse Club members. Talented Marc Worden (from Toronto, Canada) and beautiful Mylin Brooks (originally from Midwest City, Oklahoma, now an Orlando resident) met us at "Crossroads of the World" right inside the entrance to the Disney/MGM Studios. Together, we talked and walked around the studios that the Mickey Mouse Club calls home. Marc and Mylin hadn't seen the brand new Miss Piggy Fountain that had been presented by Jerry VanDyke (Coach) and Miss Piggy in a dedication ceremony earlier that day, so we strolled over there to take a look. As we walked, we also talked...

Teen Beat: Which is your favorite Disney character?

Marc: I think my favourite is Goofy. He's so crazy, he adds a lot of comedy wherever he goes.

Mylin: I like Ariel, the Little Mermaid. She's so mystical.

Teen Beat: Between the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, and Disney/MGM Studios, which park is your favorite?

Mylin: Epcot. It's educational - you go and you learn.

Marc: yes. Epcot is really cool. It's not only a place where you can go and have fun, you go and you learn stuff. But then again, the Magic Kingdom is pretty good because of Space Mountain.

Teen Beat: Have either of you travelled to any foreign countries - except at Epcot's World Showcase?

Marc and Mylin: no. (editors note: hey Marc- what about the US? Hmmm?)

Teen Beat: Would you like to?

Marc: My dream is to go to Australia. I want to go there badly!

Mylin: I'd like to go back to the Phillipines, where I was born. I came here when I was two years old, so I don't remember it.

Teen Beat: If you could travel through time, where would you go and why?

Mylin: I'd like to go back to the fifties. I really like Marilyn Monroe, and I wish I could have been alive to meet her.

Marc: I think I'd do two things. First of all, I'd go back to the sixties and go to Woodstock. Then I would go back to the beginning of time and find out how the earth was formed.

Teen Beat: You're finished filming the Mickey Mouse Club for the year, so what will you be doing now?

Mylin and Marc: School!

Teen Beat: What is your favorite segment on the Mickey Mouse Club?

Marc: I think I'd have to say Anything Could Happen is my favourite day because... anything could happen!

Mylin: My favorite part would be Music Day. I love when we get to do dances, and I think the videos are pretty incredible.

Teen Beat: Which Mickey Mouse Club guest celebrities did you particularly enjoy meeting?

Mylin: I liked meeting High Five because the lead singer, Tony, used to go to my junior high back in Oklahoma City.

Teen Beat: Do you have any messages for your fans?

Marc: Just say no!

Mylin: Thanks for watching our show. Without you, we wouldn't be here. And don't let anyone put a damper on your dreams. You can never dream too big.

Marc: I'd also have to say, always believe in yourself, because if you don't believe in yourself, then nobody else will!

Goes into more detail on her soon-to-be-up website - it sounds really cool!

Courtesy of <a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thejennifermcgillfanclub">The Jennifer McGill Fan Club</a>:

Hello all! Glad to see that everything is still up and running and that we have new members as well as the old faithfuls:) I have a few good pieces of news. First, I will have a second album available upon request soon, just like the first one. This one is entitled "Live Christian", due to the fact that I'm a live Christian, as well as the album is me singing live Christian music. I performed a mini-concert at the Deltona Springfest last month and recorded it just for you guys!

Secondly, my official website will be online shortly:

www.jennifermcgill.com

It will have two main sections..."At Work"and "At Play". I'm sure you'll spend more time in the "At Play" section, since there are lots of great, never before seen pictures and headshots of the MMC days, as well as some personal pics of me through the years. There will be a calendar of my events, a message board, and a mailing list to join. Feel free to spread the word that the "At Work" section is mostly an Internet business card for anyone interested in tossing me a gig. It's complete with sound bytes of original songs, current headshots, and resumes. I think you guys will really enjoy the site...I designed it myself, and my friend, Stephen Booth, put it together for me online. Many thanks to him for his time, as well as you guys for giving me a reason to put so much effort into organizing it. I'll make the official announcement when I've seen it online with my own two eyes:)

Thanks so much for sticking with me, guys! There's lots more in the works, and you will be the first "Group" I tell!!!

Take care and God bless...
Lovies,
Jenn

NSYNC will debut in July. I am sure many MMCers will be there including Jennifer because on the website for it there is a picture of Jennifer and Joey going to a prom (I think). Nsync will be 90 mins long.

Christina will debut around September. I think its safe to say Matt will make an apparence on her episode.

Has anyone ever watched that show Moolah Beach on ABC Family?? It's sort of like Survivor with kids. I watched a few of the episodes before, but watching all the shows back to back on Monday, gave me a whole knew perspective. OMG, what a good show!!! I can't believe how involved I was in a kids reality program. It was like watching <i>90210, the Early Years.</i>

First of all, Kyle was a jerk. "I chose morals over money." WTF!! That kid had no morals. He was so deceitful, I'm surprised he didn't confuse himself with all of his lies. I'm so glad he didn't win. I thought his partner, Shari was cool. I hated how he treated her.

And that whole Clark/Summer/Kyle thing was just wrong. Poor Clark. He really liked Summer and she was way into Kyle (who by the way had a g/f). I don't get her. She told Clark she didn't like him <i>in that way</i>, but every time they won something, she would throw her arms around him and jump on him. Way to send those mixed signals there Summer!! And Kyle knew that Clark liked Summer (who looks a lot like Britney Spears) and he encouraged him to tell her his feelings, knowing that she would reject him. What a friend. And how cruel (but funny) was it on the update, when Kyle told Clark that he may have won the money, but he got the girl. Clark was still mad about that during the reunion show.

I really wanted Nancy and Drew to win. Nancy was too cute. She had so much spunk. And I thought it was cute they started dating after the show.

The one person I didn't like was Brittany. OMG, what a phony!! I was so sick of her crocodile tears, by episode two, I was happy to see her go.

If Moolah Beach ever comes on again, I suggest you watch it!!

And why did I not know there was a new Degrassi Jr. High?? I hate my freaking cable company!! I loved that show growing up. Every last one of those kids had problems. It was the best. I watched the new one this weekend. It was about half way through the show before I realized that Emma's mom was Spike!!! OMG, I remember when Emma was born!!! Has it been 13 years already?? I'm old.

Well that's it for my journey into "Teen World." Let me get back to the my real world. I received a subpoena to appear in court for one of my clients. Ahhhh, what a life!!

It has been almost two months since the girls of Innosense broke up the act and told Lou Pearlman to kiss off. Since then, each of the girls have started brand new lives as individuals.

Danay Ferrer chose to return home to Miami with attempts to go solo.

Mandy Ashford remains in Orlando, where she is currently working on a country music album in an attempt to become the next Faith Hill.

Veronica Lee Finn is also residing in O-Town... she is currently a member of a brand new rock group called "Zoetic", and they will make their debut at the "FBI" cafe on April 20.

A newly blonde Jenny Morris is now a sidekick of Miss Britney Jean Spears... she and Brit just returned from a Miami vacation. She refuses to talk about her past with Innosense.

And last, but not least, Miss Nikki DeLoach is now living in Los Angeles, attending community college, and getting back into acting. She is currently repped by some of the same people who reps artists like Wade Robson, Pollyanna Dorough, Leighanne (Mrs. Brian) Litrell, and Sarah Jo Martin, the future Mrs. A.J. McLean. I will keep everyone updated on the former girls of Innosense as news develops.

Subject: Dee Dee Article (Kinda Old)

Date Posted: 11:50:38 05/27/02 Mon

Dee Dee Lyn Magno as Kim : Dee Dee Lyn Magno had no idea about musical theatre though she loved singing and was active in school plays and talent searches since her teenage years.

It was Miss Saigon which opened her heart to musicals and today she is on tour making audience fall in love with her sweet voice and gentleness in the role of Kim of the lavish production Miss Saigon, now making a stop at Kallang Theatre in Singapore.

``I first watched Miss Saigon in London in 1991, I was 16 then,'' recalled Dee Dee at the backstage of Kallang Theatre. ``I didn't remember much of the show. But I was taken by the fact that the leading lady was a young Asian girl. She was the centre of attention. At that time, there were not many Asian actresses on stage or TV and movies. Before that I had no clue about Broadway, didn't know what musical theatre was all about. I was completely drawn to Miss Saigon.''

So after watching the show she bought the Miss Saigon CD and memorised all the songs and even recorded them.

``I practised my singing in my parent's bathroom because it had the best acoustic in our home,'' recalled Dee Dee, who has been playing Kim for five or six years. She trained on her own and took some private lessons to prepare herself for the audition when the role for Kim became available.

Since Lea Salonga, the first actress, was loved and praised for her performance so much, did Dee Dee feel any pressure to fill her shoes? ``The pressure was surely there,'' she said. ``Here's the role that made a star of Lea. But when I first started doing the show, I just tried to do my best. Now that I've been doing it for so long, I could say that I've made the role my own.

``Every woman who has stepped into the role has to do that, to make the part her own. You can't avoid comparison. But you do your best,'' Dee Dee said.

The role calls for her to take off her clothes in a love scene with Chris. How does she feel doing it with thousands of eyes watching her?

``When I perform, I kind of put up a wall between me and the audience. I kind of pretend nobody is there. I would remember there were people out there when someone sneezed or coughed,'' said Dee Dee. ``One night I can't remember where I was. Usually I have some cover underneath for that scene so I feel comfortable. The audience for that show were high school kids. As I took off my brassiere, I heard someone in the audience go `Woo hoo!' That made me realise that there were a thousand people watching me taking off my clothes! Suddenly I felt so naked.

``And you can imagine when my family came to watch me for the first time. `Oh, oh, that's our baby girl up there!' But after doing the scene night after night you kind of get used to it.''

Terri's in a new commercial for Visa Check Card, I think that's what it was. Anyway, the commercial shows all these people using their Visa Check Card and imagining what they will buy with some kind of reward they get for using it. She's in line at a grocery store imagining getting a pair of bunny slippers and the guy in front of her is imagining the same thing. It's most definitely Terri, she looks exactly like she did on "MMC." You can't miss her when you see the commercial unless they shorten it and cut her part out which they might. Her part comes after they explain what the whole deal is and in future airings they might stop it there before her part.

There has been a lot of credible pictures out on the web of Britney smoking. Even CNN had something on their news ticker about it. I think that might explain why her once powerful voice has grown so weak. It doesn't bother me because it's her life, and I'll still be her fan no matter what. But I wish she would stop so she doesn't end up getting her life cut short. Her family has a strong history of cancer. She's increasing her chances of getting it by tanning both under natural and artificial light, and now smoking. She's being too naive, she probably thinks nothing bad will happen to her. What do you guys think of Brit smoking?
