Subject: LISA KLEYPAS - SUGAR DADDY

I'm just about done with Lisa Kleypas's SUGAR DADDY. Has anyone else read this? I would like to discuss it, and I'll put my comments up in a few days, just giving you a heads up! Anyone want to come and play??

Robin

[> Okay, I finished the book, and I gotta say. REALLY ENJOYED IT! Wonderful characters, I cried once, and felt like I couldn't sit still in my chair while I read certain chapters....anyone else want to discuss? If not, I'll do a review and submit to the cafe..... -- Robin, 19:00:16 05/11/07 Fri

[> [> Yep, read it and enjoyed it. Be interested to see if she has a go at some other contemps. Some of the writing did seem to take a long time to the actual hero and heroine? Was it more of a womans journey through life story rather than a romance? -- Sarah, 21:27:59 05/24/07 Thu

[> Sorry, I don't know that I've read this one yet. My TBR pile is huge. I would love to hear about it. I'm not one of those people who gets upset at a bit of a spoiler. -- ChrisMM ChrisMM, 22:29:45 05/21/07 Mon

[> I agree that the first half of the book was the set up, or backstory, and I'll also go a little further and say that it wasn't very 'light' (not the first half). I'm so used to her historicals and they have a different flow. To me, this book showed how good Lisa K is at wielding her craft. How to make the story so full and make the characters so real, while writing in 1st person is a skill that not all authors have. I did cry in this book and I really fell for Gage.... YUM. I would definitely get any book by her, she doesn't disappoint, whether its contemp or historical. -- Robin, 19:12:17 05/29/07 Tue
