Subject: I don't think it was so much for being embarassed, that the men did what they did. Nor do I think they were off the "accept her for who she is" track. I just think Bethie had never been to a formal dinner, or any event, were she'd need manners. Wouldn't you feels uncomfortable going to a black-tie affair and not knowing basic common coutesies or which fork to use, etc? I think the tips were for her own comfort!!
