My Dad, Gus Cocoros and his department used to organize those picnics. They were every kids dream! I can remember the night before the picnic being as exciting as Christmas eve. My brother & I would have a hard time going to sleep! The crabs were always supplied by Doc Caroza and he'd send the biggest ones! And how about all the ice cream bars that you can eat! l always had a stomach ache by day's end (along with the sunburn!). They were great times...the memories will be with me forever.
