Subject: Crystalling tulle

Hi dressmakers,
My mom just recently finished my latest dress just in time for the Oireachtas. It has an all sequin top and a tulle skirt, so to balance out the lack of sparkle on the bottom half, I have ordered 2 gross of ss34 crystals. I have done quite a bit of sparkling before, but never tulle.
The skirt is only 2 layers of tulle and has a satin underskirt.
My question is, how do you go about crystalling? Do you put something under the tulle to stop the glue from seeping? Should I aim to crystal one layer and not the other? I still want it to have a "free floating" look

Thanks

I just finished working on a dress with multiple layers of chiffon. There were no stones on the top layer and 24ss to 30ss AB stones on the second layer to get a bit of twinkle with movement. (NT)LynnToledoWednesday, December 03, 08:22:06am
