Thanks!!! That makes perfect sense. Have made button front ones before and you can sew almost all the way around before turning and couldn't wrap my head around it. You just made my day.

I do each piec separately. I sew the neckline, armholes, and bottom edges, leaving the sides and shoulders open. Then trim, clip, turn press. Serge the sides and shoulders (lining to fabric), then sew the vest together. This lets me leave room at the shoulders and sides for let out and make it an inexpensive alteration.
