Subject: It would depend on whether the fabric is washable or not. I just got red lipstick out of white bridal satin by using a mild solution of dish washing liquid desolved in warm water. (more)

In reply to: sndm 's message, "getting lipstick off a dress" on Thursday, December 04, 07:28:20am

Put a white towel behind the area with the stain, and use a white towel moistened with the detergent solution to gently blot the stain, re-wet and repeat blotting until the stain comes out, then carefully rinse by blotting with plain water. Press as much water out of the fabric with clean dry white towels when you are done. BEFORE YOU BEGIN - TEST on a hidden area of the fabric first to see if it leaves a water mark. Wish my daughter would be more careful about getting make-up on her dress. Tired of becoming a stain removal expert!
