Subject: I like my old domestic Bernina, about 25 yrs old, solid and extremely reliable! I much prefer it to my industrial machine, though that was better for satin stitch in the old days, pre-Toyota embroidery. I now have three similar old Berninas so I always have a spare if one needs servicing. Subject Author Date For the really tough work I use my mother's 35-year-old Husqvarna. It's virtually cast iron (and gotta love that 1970s brown paint), but my sewing machine guy assured me it was about the best machine I could get. I break lots of needles, but never the machine.
