Subject: OP,look at dress #1859B, on dance again. Look at the close up pic of the bodice and check out the embroidery on the neckline. This is a Gavin! Having altered many big name dresses, I can tell you that they all have some embroidery flaws. If the dress you were looking at had a few uneven areas, that is not out of the norm. I do hand guided embroidery and though it will not be perfect, it will look good even up close. If the design was uneven over a large area, then that is an issue.

In reply to: tyia 's message, "Need opinions.I was at a feis looking for a "new"/used dress for my daughter. We saw one we liked form across the room, but up close the embroidery was strange. I think it was hand done or guided? When I asked the seller if it was done with an embroidery machine, she got upset and said of course, couldn't I tell? She said it was "digitalised" (unsure of the word). She got mad when I said I would think about it. Should digitalised embroidery look rough and uneven? What should it look like?" on Tuesday, March 20, 01:30:19am

I really feel like there must have been more to this conversation, because I can't see a dress seller getting mad because you said you would "think about it." Regarding the embroidery, dresses do not have to be done with an embroidery machine to be fabulous. That is just one way of doing things. Hand guided can be fabulous as well. What do you need an "opinion" on? If you like the dress buy it, if you don't, don't buy it...Tuesday, March 20, 11:18:55am
