Subject: If you get the embroidery machine first you can buy stock designs and use those. If you buy the digitizing software first (and you know what hoop size you will have) you can have several designs ready to go. I started with a small machine and stock designs, then bought embird, then upgraded to Masterworks, then switched to Bernina, then upgraded machine. If you have the cash upfront I'd start with Bernina. If not Embird is a good starting point.

In reply to: . 's message, "Did most of you purchased the embroidery machine and then learned to digitize?" on Wednesday, July 23, 08:45:12am

The first time I think it took a few days to get the hang of digitizing (with online tutorials), then with every software switch it was easier, only needed one or two tutorials to get familiar with differences in software.

Thank you so much. I've been looking into Bernina 560 as anything beyond would be way too much for me. Would 560 be efficient with making 12-15 dresses a year? (NT)Is anyone using it? Thank you.Wednesday, July 23, 11:07:03am
