Subject: I wonder if it lets them use a lighter stitch count. It would give all of the embroidery a smooth background (even velvet and sequins), less visual need for underlay stitches, etc. There is white water soluble topper available, its about the same prices as the clear.

Not sure, if sewing out black or darker embroidery wouldn't you see the white underneath if using a lighter stitch count? Maybe it is just a cheaper option for solvy, but I'd imagine it would leave a "fluffy" edge to the embroidery. (NT)Instead of a clean edge with the solvy.Tuesday, October 21, 12:05:27pm

Actually needs a higher stitch count so the foam is perforated well along the edges. Using the foam does not make anything cheaper, just cooler looking! (NT)ATuesday, October 21, 01:18:45pm
