Just curious what others are doing

Are people still doing skirts in a rectangular shape? If so, approximately how long a length are you using? I've noticed some really nice full skirts recently and wondering if they aren't maybe cutting out in a semi full circle? I can't seem to make mine as full with a rectangle and I'm cutting approximately 60-65 inch lengths. Should it be more?

I make strips and pleat or gather. (NT)sdmSaturday, October 25, 06:06:14pm

Depending how deeply pleated, I use about 110 to 135". For a small dress, 27" hip, I am using 3 strips 36 to 45" long. One for the front, and one each for the back panels. (NT).Saturday, October 25, 10:37:51pm
