I need some tips on how to add a ruffle or trim to my dds solo dress. Sleeves are getting a bit short and she is getting a lot of arm comments from adj.Can anyone give me tips on this- maybe see some examples of some so I can get some ideas. The dress is not a frilly style. Has anyone ever had this done? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

Perhaps instead of ruffles, add a border of lace material with backing. (NT)idea?Monday, July 21, 02:00:45am

You could pleat some satin and add it to the bottom. By making knife-pleats you'll avoid the frilly look. (NT)KirstenMonday, July 21, 04:47:36am

I added faux french cuffs to dd's dress. They could easily be used to lengthen sleeves. I added big buttons as 'cuff links'. (NT)dancing momMonday, July 21, 07:26:39am

I've done several sets of sleeve extensions over the years. Make them coordinate with colors in the dress then use those really big snaps ( 2per sleeve) and hold in place that way. Come resale time the next buyer can grow into the dress too. (NT)LynnOHMonday, July 21, 09:02:41am

Where do I put the big snaps? Do I really only need 2?feis momMonday, July 21, 05:17:55pm
