Subject: What is everyone doing for skirt angles these days? I've had a client who hated her 45 degree angle skirt and brought it to me to shrink it down. Another client distressed that her skirt wasn't sticking out enough at the sides. Have skirt angles changed? What do you do?

Proportions keep changing. As bodice to skirt proportions change, so the skirt angle also needs to change to keep the balance looking right (NT).Sunday, January 29, 11:43:26pm

Then in that case, maybe with a longer bodice the skirt would be wider but with a shorter bodice it could be narrower. (NT)maybeMonday, January 30, 10:03:51am

My daughter, who is taller likes less of a flair. Her shorter friend likes more flair. (NT)It's really personal preference.Monday, January 30, 12:26:02pm

It depends on the shape of the dancer. A very slim dancer can look overwhelmed by a wide skirt whereas a fuller figured dancer can carry it off. (NT)RFriday, February 03, 03:58:39am
