Subject: Think how much quicker and easier it is to make a dress for a 10 yr old, and how much less fabric you use (just compare the skirt panels, for example). I don't think any dressmaker would charge the same for different ages (= different sizes). But you need to work out your own pricing, including factors such as how experienced you are, and how much in demand. If you reach the stage of having a waiting list when you're working full time at these dresses, then it might be time to put up your prices

For the most part, I would charge the same if the hours involved are the same. I think of it as an hourly wage and not a price based on how old a dancer is or their level. If significantly less fabric is needed then a small reduction for materials, but not a huge difference. (NT)..Thursday, February 20, 07:07:55pm
