Subject: Unless you are handsewing, the time it takes to sew a 5 inch seam versus a 10 inch should only be a few seconds. Even cutting is only going to take an extra minute (maybe) for the longer seam. Not enough to impact an hourly wage.

In reply to: ! 's message, "But it isn't the same amount of embroidery and same amount of crystals. Each seam on an 8yr dress is quicker to cut and sew as it is so much shorter than for an 18yr dress. Less embroidery, less crystals, less fabric. Cannot understand why you would want to charge the same price? I can make 2 8yr dresses in the time it takes me for one 18yr dress" on Friday, February 21, 12:30:27am

Agree. Also, I was answering the OP's question, and she stated, "if the amt of embroidery and crystals are similar." Change my answer so the word "same" is "similar" and there you have it. For me the time difference based on size is minimal, and there is no way I could make 2 small dresses in the time it takes to make 1 large dress no matter how large the dress is. Every little bit adds up, for me, the medium/large teen dresses take 20-30% more time and materials than tiny dresses and I quote accordingly. If the total ends up being lower, the customer is pleasantly surprised. (NT)--Friday, February 21, 03:03:21pm
