Subject: Anyone else notice the preponderance of new dresses featuring digitizing via the "auto-digitize" button? Commanding big prices for extremely sub-par embroidery. Remind me again why the "big names" deserve the title? What is most amazing is that they post CLOSE-UP photos of this horrendous embroidery, and their dresses are sought after. Why? Why, on so many levels?

such bad work

My thoughts.DmSunday, March 09, 10:12:28am

Ok, I'm so glad you posted this! I believe I saw the close up picture of the embroidery in question and thought the same thing??!! I actually wondered if this was considered good embroidery because it WAS designed by someone in the know.....Then I gave my head a shake and thought, nope, not going this route with my embroidery because while yes, I agree with the first comment, no one would ever buy one of my dresses if it looked like that.more inside :)Sunday, March 09, 11:04:13am

Hi. It's not all about the embroidery though, theres the fit, style, stage presence, embroidery comes way down the list as far as I'm concerned. There a very few dressmakers in my opinion that can pull off the look and fit of a Gavin for instance (lets not bash this though) I have seen 3 or 4 of his new designs and they all fit a dream. I for one would sacrifice perfect embroidery close up for the right look/sit of a costume. (NT)MomMonday, March 10, 06:22:05am
