Subject: Unprofessional & sloppy "speedy digitising" should not exist on these costly dresses. Still not understanding the "it's just a costume" angle when they cost so much. If it is only about how they look on the stage, then they should be cheaper, say around $200 mark, not $1800-3000! Always felt that "it's just a costume" is what unskilled dms say to justify sloppy work. Bring on the indignation, but there are plenty of us who do excellent embroidery who chafe when we see bad work priced so high.

In reply to: Simple. 's message, "There's good digitising, and as some have said here recently they can take several days to digitise a dress. And then there's speedy digitising which prduces embroidery which looks fine from stage distance, including less dense stitching, both of which save time, and of course time is money." on Sunday, March 09, 10:34:12pm

The thing is, you can't have a regular dress custom made for $200 and non-ID embroidery is also expensive. I used to purchase the logo-wear for my dd's academic school, and even a little tiny left chest logo or baseball cap initial gets pricey. I think SNDMs are not getting paid what they are worth, but unfortunately that is the way it is. If the BNDMs prices came down sndms would have to come down too, regardless of better workmanship, so probably better to keep the status quo. (NT).Monday, March 10, 08:56:13am
