Subject: Thanks for the thoughts! I have found that the armhole raised definitely helps, but there is also a lot to be said about the cap of the sleeve. The flatter the overall shape of the pattern is at the top of the pattern the higher the arm can be raised, as seen in more vintage patterns. I was curious how flat the feis dress pattern cap was.
