I found a lovely coral lace for a dress I'm working on, and have too many options to go with it... I've boiled it down for three, but sometimes I think I'm crazy, so I'm asking for other opinions. =)

Coral & cream + navy

Coral & cream + black

Coral & cream + brown

The navy is my favorite choice, but that might be a me thing as I like some peculiar color combos. Black is always safe & looks nice, but it's also very common (though perhaps not with coral). I'm not sure how I feel about brown, but it doesn't look bad - I'm just prejudiced. lol

Thoughts?

I'm working on a dress with coral. Can I ask where you found the lace? (NT)Not using any of your other colors, thoMonday, July 07, 05:29:28pm

We have coral paired with purple/grape...sounds awful but it is gorgeous. (NT)..Monday, July 07, 06:34:38pm

i'd do brown. I think it would look very sophisticated! (NT)very popular combo for weddings these days tooMonday, July 07, 08:15:56pm

Made a dress in coral, gold and lime! (NT)very pretty!Monday, July 07, 08:20:36pm

depending on the dancer, If she is more "sophisticated" or serious or grown-up type: I'd go for brown/copperybrown first, if she has a "strong" face I'd take black, if she is more feminine, I'd take navy. (NT)just my gut feeling on colorsTuesday, July 08, 12:22:28am

I'd do the navy! (NT)LynnOHTuesday, July 08, 08:44:51am

I think we've decided on the Navy, it does seem to be the most feminine combo, and thats appropriate. =) Thanks so much! (NT)OPTuesday, July 08, 03:25:27pm

With embroidery, I'd go for black because navy always "looks" black, so I assume you are talking about a color for velvet. While I wear brown and coral together, I think a lot of girls nix brown. Black can look severe or Halloweenish, depending on the shade of coral. Here's a thought..what about an ivory or white velvet and coral lace..or even a shade of pink velvet with the coral, then ivory or white embroidery, (NT)depends on the look you're going for...and dancer's age. good luck.Wednesday, July 09, 06:38:24am
