Subject: Personally, I would not use this kind of formula. Not a dressmaker, but my dd is 5'2" and friends dd is about 5'7" and their dresses are only around 1" difference in length. Tall dd has very long legs and average body length. Another dancer of the same height could have a long body and shorter legs which I would imagine, would change the dress length. Happy to be told I'm wrong though!

In reply to: Thanks 's message, "Does anyone have a formula for calculating overall dress length from the dancer's height please? Just to give an average dress length, for a start?" on Monday, December 02, 03:47:00pm

I'm 5'4" and have the same length torso as a 5'10" classmate. Drop waist dresses look ridiculous on me. (NT)mpThursday, December 05, 11:20:42pm
