Hi there, I was directed to this message board in hopes to get some advice. I wish to purchase/invest in a new sewing machine for my daughter who makes dancing dresses. She's up to date with the styles etc, so I need to make sure I purchase one that can handle it all...........sewing, embroidery, applique...etc, etc. As I have no clue what she has at the moment, we live in different towns, I was hoping some of you could let me know what your favourite machine is or what your dream machine is. Any help is appreciated and I thank you in advance :-)

For a regular sewing machine, not embroidery, I use a Janome 6600P. more . . .KathySunday, August 10, 11:15:02am

I too got great ideas about a new machine from helpful people on this board. I ended up purchasing a pfaff, and am in love with the integrated walking foot. (NT)I highly recommend it.Sunday, August 10, 11:48:18am

This is fantastic information!! I'm going to do some investigating asap!! For the dress maker who bought a Pfaff, which model did you buy??? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU :-) (NT)mominneedSunday, August 10, 04:06:04pm

I have a great Pfaff Lifesyle 2022 that I love but dont need now that I upgraded to a Janome 11000 embroidery machine. The Pfaff is for sale. Does she have a serger? (makes a stitch like your commercial made closes have). Maybe 2 great used machines instead of one new one? (NT)LynnOHSunday, August 10, 10:11:12pm

I have a husqvarna designer SE which does everything. (NT)make sure you buy the professional suite software (and design your own embroidery)Sunday, August 10, 10:55:14pm

I love my PfaffCamyMonday, August 11, 12:52:07am

I'm doing some online research on all the great advice you've all given me. I plan on heading off to my local sewing world this afternoon so wish me luck!! With the last post about the lady who loves her Pfaff, which model do you have??? Thank you all again!!! (NT)mominneedMonday, August 11, 11:09:36am

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! While chatting with my daughter the other day, she told me how fed up she was with her "dark ages" machine. Turns out she wishes she had a Janome 11000!! Mission accomplished!!! Thank you all so much for being so helpful! (NT)mominneedMonday, August 18, 11:17:59am
