Subject: Is it harder for smaller dressmakers to do the detailed embroidery that is on some of the current dresses. Are high end machines needed for that kind of embroidery?

There are limits to each embroidery machine. Hoop size is my biggest limitation with a small scale embroidery machine. Also the degitizing learning curve can be tough. Each one gets better. (NT)my experienceMonday, July 13, 12:10:52am

Every small dressmaker has a different embroidery setup and abilities. Personally, I free-hand simplier things (most knotwork) and use my embroidery machine for intricate designs (lots of changes in width for example). For me, its effecient and effective and I get the same look as you get with a big machine. (NT)the only downside is the lack of perfect consistencyMonday, July 13, 01:08:39am
