Hi,I posted a while back about my daughters dislike of stiff under skirt,we have sold her gavin frilly dress so will have to decide about next dress, our local team dressmaker has agreed to make our solo, how long is the stiff bit of the new skirts with gathered layers in bright colors,I am hoping this could be a good compromise between too stiff and too floppy, what do you think?

There is a reason that a dressmaker uses the stiffening in the front - so that the front of the dress sits properly and keeps its shape. If eventually you will sell this dress, tell your daughter deal with it. If you go without, I am sure that she won't be happy with how it looks. (NT)My 2 centsThursday, July 28, 02:04:49pm

The alternative is to wear a full petticoat under the soft skirt. It's very flowy and elegant, plus very easy to dance in. I haven't heard complaints about the petticoat getting tangled in the legs. (NT)Love the petticoatsSaturday, July 30, 06:03:20am
