So if your total length is 30 (top mid shoulder to skirt hem) then top of 20 skirt of 10, this is where the seam for bodice to skirt will be. Then the 'V' is on the top of the skirt (belt)...so the 'v' can extend down as far as you want, but if it is stiff then it can hinder kicks if too long. You may want a certain angle to the 'v' this will help determine how far down the point goes...you can also drop the 'look' of the sides of the bodice onto the skirt (belt) to change the angle of the 'v'...hth
