It depends on how much you have to let out. If you only need an inch or so, then letting it out at the CB is fine. When you need 2 or 3 inches, letting it out only at the CB rotates the side of the skirt frame forward too far. It is not an issue with the frames that are seamed at the sides, but the ones that are constructed in a single piece tend to buckle and tilt the back up.
