Subject: I take it they are the large flat sequins? They trash twinkle satin. I don't mix the two now. Small sequins don't seem to do the same damage. But to fix this, tack netting to the sequins down the side back panels to stop them rubbing when she is dancing and put something on her when waitning to dance with sleeves, like a hoodie.

That has seemed to work for the dresses I've made.

In reply to: thanks! 's message, "Help, ladies, I need suggestions! I'm a SNDM, I've made a lot of dresses, but recently made my first sequin dress. Thankfully, it was for dd as I always experiement on her first. It's got sequins in bottom 2/3 of bodice and in skirt, with twinkle satin at top of bodice and sleeves. She's worn it 3 or 4 times and the sequins have snagged the fabric of the sleeve all the way from cuff to underarm seam so badly that the sleeve is all puckered up and several inches shorter than it used to be!" on Monday, September 16, 12:45:18pm

I use two layers of netting/tulle on the inside arms of the dress:) (NT)SNDMTOOMonday, September 16, 04:46:53pm

Two layers of thinner netting/tulle, or one layer of that really thick scrubbie net (does anyone know if it has an alternate name?) from joanns. (NT)switched to bridal satin, can't handle the twinkle with sequins!Tuesday, September 17, 10:08:03am
