In reply to: LynnOH 's message, "What would prevent them from being able to lift their arms? I am envisioning one of those bent bar things the "Pros" on Dancing With the Stars make the "stars" wear to improve their hold/carriage." on Monday, September 23, 10:16:46am

With one I am familiar with, the straps are so tight that there is no way the dancer could raise her arms. In fact she was afraid that if she fell she wouldn't be able to catch herself. So it was revised to go under her arms for competition and then she does it over for awards. Gorgeous dress but definitely a problem.
