Subject: I once measured every Gavin that came my way for alterations. Every one was exactly 1" shorter on sides than at center of skirt. So that's what I do.

In reply to: worth a shot 's message, "Does anyone use a rule of thumb for how much higher the side seam should be or is it just an eyeballing kind of thing? Like side should be about 3 inches higher than the lowest center of skirt etc??" on Wednesday, September 25, 09:43:30am

This is helpful, thank you. I laid the one I had flat on the table and measured how high the curve was pulled up. The difference from the center of the skirt edge to the curve of the side seam hem, is about 6 inches. This of course is laying flat. I'll be able to pull my side seams up and use this as a gauge when I lay it flat. Thank you all for your input. Very much appreciated! (NT)Thank you!Saturday, September 28, 09:40:59am
