Subject: Maybe they were not genuine Swarovski pears? A few people are selling cheaper crystals, but you get what you pay for. Swarovski crystals shouldn't scratch, and you should be able to pick off any trails of glue. I would buy new crystals and replace them, for $50 or so if you buy them in bulk from somewhere like Dreamtime Creations.

In reply to: frustrated mom 's message, "swarovski maintenance question: dd just received her "new" used dress from Ireland. The dress has dozens of the large pear shaped crystals on the bodice. Unfortunately, they have a "scratched" appearance...spider web patterns which diminish the sparkle effect. I've never seen this before, is there any way to restore them?" on Thursday, June 21, 11:47:24am
