Subject: I have given some thought to doing off-the-rack dresses, but the reality is that I have not had the time due to the number of customer dress orders that I've had. Is the same thing happening with anyone else? I can't believe the number of people ordering new dresses this year. It's nice to have guaranteed income!

In reply to: ! 's message, "So why does anyone still make custom dresses when Off the Rack dresses are so much less hassle and complete freedom to make what we want?" on Thursday, June 04, 07:30:21am

Actually I am a lot slower this year than the last 3 or 4 years. (NT)Maybe it's just me.Sunday, June 07, 07:34:59pm

Yes I am absolutely swamped with custom orders, turning lots of people away as sadly I just cannot manage to make so many dresses (NT)Business has really picked up again!Tuesday, June 09, 06:21:51am

I have been very busy as well. Pricing is probably a huge factor. I am seeing price quotes of $1500-2200 *before* rhinestones from BNDM, and that seems to be the typical SNDM range *with* rhinestones. They may have a bigger overheard, but they also get much much better materials (especially rhinestone) pricing and I suspect their profit margins are still far better at the end of the day.
