Subject: I always provide a sketch. I have a blank dress design, and draw it out on the computer. Easy to change colors, or alter the design as needed for the dancer. I typically start with a rough pencil sketch though, its easier to get started with pencil on paper. I stay true to the sketch as much as possible, and the finished dresses look very similar.

Can't imagine not doing sketches

In reply to: Thoughts? 's message, "How necessary is it to provide a sketch of a custom dress for approval before making the dress? How many dressmakers do provide one? It seems to me that unless it is a highly professional Photoshop sketch, it is never going to look like the finished dress" on Monday, July 13, 11:11:20pm

It's not necessary if you specify it as part of your contract. I never have but do communicate regularly and allow returns (never had one returned.) (NT)sketches optionalTuesday, July 14, 06:04:58pm
