Subject: If you have other friends in dance who this client doesn't know you are friends with, you could have someone go up to her at a feis and compliment the dress and ask who the dressmaker is. I know if I was the dm, I would want to know so I could stay away from the client in the future.

In reply to: sndm 's message, "I don't know who the dressmaker is. I tried to talk to the client, but she walked away(very rude) when I confronted her. Did mail her an invoice today. Waiting on the reaction now." on Monday, March 07, 04:48:17pm

Do you have a contract - even just an email or oral - wherein you mention that the design is your property. If so, you could sue the client in small claims court, but it probably isn't worth the hassle - plus the client would bad mouth you to everyone who would listen.

You may want to let the client's TC know, just so that they are aware.

Also, if you can find out who the other dm is, I'm sure they would like to know. Personally, I have created a Declaration of Copyright form that I make a client sign when providing their own design. If the dm has something like this, and they are willing to provide it to you, then that will bolster your case.
