Subject: Hello :) Could someone advise me on the intricate shaped hems we are seeing on rising star etc.. more inside..

I have not had much success with these, particularly the very leafy shaping. I either cut the satin lining too close and it frays on the tips or it just doesn't sit flat or look professional. My front skirts are stiffened before embroidery (2 layers of firm iron on woven interfacing) and the lining is a standard stage satin.
Any advice would be much appreciated :)

They aren't stiffened. Don't use stiffener and it will turn through better for you. (NT)Hope it's a helpTuesday, August 02, 06:03:05pm

You don't need the fusible interfacing. If you use only the stabilizer for embroidery and then don't trim as close, the fabric will be better able to turn inside out. (NT)my thoughtsTuesday, August 02, 06:29:58pm

The stiffened underskirt is enough. :-) (NT)Remember the skirt is flat against the under skirtWednesday, August 03, 07:45:25pm
