Subject: Newbie here - what are your best suggestions for adding fabric / length to a pleated tennis-style skirt on an ID dress. Only have about 1/2 inch of letdown and really need to add a few inches. Black so I'd think fabric would be forviging, esp in back.

I've added black velvet length at the bottom of the bodice and it was barely noticeable. But can the bodice length really go that long on the dancer's body? (NT)proportions matterTuesday, November 08, 09:29:49pm

It is time for a new dress. It is really not possible to add several inches to a pleated skirt (in any case it should probably be the bodice that is lengthened rather than the skirt) and maintain a good look, with proper proportions. (NT)Reality check (t6bc)Wednesday, November 09, 02:33:35pm

Try to reconstruct the skirt to look like it was not an afterthought. Attach it to the bodice after (NT)You just need to be a little creativeSaturday, November 26, 01:39:12pm
