Subject: I have a bit of a beef. With respect to the dressmaker making the capped sleeves. They have named them the "Taylor Cap" and yet I made a dress with these exact sleeves last October for the Western Region Oireachtas. Not a critisicm of this lovely dressmaker but I guess my beef is that the small name dressmakers, despite being innovative are always overlooked.

Exactly. I was critizized years ago, for the high collar,& using velvet. (NT)Uh, now look.Thursday, April 13, 11:07:59am

I suggested years ago to a client to put flat back pearls on a dress. I was told it was too different & no one would like it. (NT)😐 I guess I need to live in IRE to have it make sense.Thursday, April 13, 12:52:12pm

Thanks for the support ladies (NT)OpThursday, April 13, 03:21:49pm

I have been doing this long enough to have had more than one of my ideas "appropriated" by one of the bigger usurpers. It is as backhanded a compliment as you can get. It is gross, but there you have Irish Dance. Sue, if you want...we want you to win. Truly...but it is so hard in this fast changing, weird little world we are in. But did you make just one dress with capped sleeves? Perhaps if you had made a dozen or more, for top dancers, and published photos all over Facebook and Instagram, and had these dresses on display at a stall at a major competition, you would be getting the same credit as Taylors are now. They may have seen the idea on your dress, or elsewhere (try a google search!), but whoever does all the promotion and uses the idea on multiple top dancers' dresses is bound to get the credit! (NT)Beat them or join them and become a BNDM!Monday, April 17, 05:27:32am
