Subject: 2 pieces?

Is it acceptable to make a two piece dress nowadays? The last time I tried making a dress, hanging the skirt from the bodice and making the zipper work was a nightmare.

2 piece dresses are so much easier. Do they not move properly, or is there another reason I should take into account before making a dress in 2 pieces?

Thanks!

I think there are still a few out there. The main problem is the attachment so that it doesn't look like two pieces. With the elongated bodice it might actually be easier than when it was up at the waist area. (NT)Go for itThursday, June 01, 05:52:12pm

I don't like them because they add more bulk at the seams, making the dancer look wider. (NT)just my opinionMonday, June 05, 12:37:37pm

I have seen them as an option for the U10 age group in Mid-America to accommodate the "no bling" rule in region. A second bodice/bolero is made that can be rhinestoned and worn at majors. (NT)LynnToledoWednesday, June 07, 11:11:51am
