Subject: There is a big discussion on the main board (60473) about a dress for sale with a neck dart in the front. I have never seen this done before and wonder if any of you do this. Seems that it is a fix to me and not intentional originally. Thoughts?

Definitely intentional, and definitely an improvement (NT)IMHOThursday, July 21, 09:15:03pm

I have only seen it on Gavin's dresses. I think it is a quick fix, because I have had times when there was gapping at the neck and then spent a lot of time trying to fix it right. I thought about how easy it would be to just sew it together, but knew that was not proper sewing technique and as a SNDM I would never get away with it. (NT)DMFriday, July 22, 10:29:59am

Well, let's put it this way. Have you ever seen bust darts and waist darts on regular clothes? Yes, those are standard. Have you ever seen a neck dart on standard clothes? I haven't. I don't find anything on google about neck darts. (NT)Just saying.Friday, July 22, 10:32:55am

It just doesn't look good. Looks like shoddy workmanship, or a mistake somewhere else fixed at the center neck. (NT)UghFriday, July 22, 06:37:49pm

My guess is that some bubbling occurs after he embroiders over the darts and this is the only way to correct it. I don't like the appearance either but it could be hidden under some rhinestones. (NT).Saturday, July 23, 08:41:11am

Irish dancer's posture is not like standard posture. Different fitting options are required. (NT)I see nothing wrong with itMonday, July 25, 01:42:20pm
