Subject: I can tell from your question that you need to do more research before you start to make a dress, and you need more information than anyone could give you here in a couple of sentences. Have a look at the dresses on the dress rack at a local feis to see how the skirts are constructed. You'll waste more money than you save by trying to make a dress before you've looked at lots of dresses and figured out how it all goes together. Not trying to be rude, just being honest.

There is a yahoo group that has lots of information stored in archives - that is a great place to start. Then after research you can ask questions, many are willing to help. Google searching IDDressmaking was the fasted way for me to find it. (NT).Tuesday, April 02, 08:41:58am
