Subject: Black velvet?

Does anyone have a recommendation for lightweight black velvet, that still looks nice and black? I typically use the micro velvet from Joann's, and while I love it the dancer is looking for an entirely velvet dress and I am hoping to find something a bit lighter. Should I look at silk velvet? Any other suggestions?

Stick with the Microvelvet. It's the easiest to work with and the nicest looking. (NT)Silk is a pita to work with.Sunday, April 07, 06:26:53pm

The stretch velvet in black from Supreme Novelty Fabrics in Chicago is pretty and light.. Check other spandex velvets-the stretch from Joanns isn't bad, bit I don't know if I'd use the black for a whole dress. (NT)HthSunday, April 07, 08:17:36pm
