Subject: Hmm, I'll order a swatch. My experience with spandex velvets is that they are about the same or heavier than micro velvet once you add interfacing. Is the one from SNF lighter than average? I would love to find some of the super thin micro velvet IDfabrics.com had, but haven't had any luck.

In reply to: Hth 's message, "The stretch velvet in black from Supreme Novelty Fabrics in Chicago is pretty and light.. Check other spandex velvets-the stretch from Joanns isn't bad, bit I don't know if I'd use the black for a whole dress." on Sunday, April 07, 08:17:36pm

The stuff from Joann's is lighter, but again, I don't think I'd use the black for a whole dress. I'd order a swatch for snf-- (NT)Let us know what you thinkMonday, April 08, 07:25:12am
