I have made many solo dresses that stand out well and the stiffener is the same shape as the bndm's. I am still doing SOMETHING wrong! My bases dont float up when the dancers dance in them. they round out and poke them in the stomach instead of pushing/bending up when the girls dance. I use three layers of Vilene with some cut out near the top and bottom of the stiffening base. I push the side seams forward about 3/4" on my dresses. Should I be pushing them forward even more? I'm at a loss... any ideas? :(

I think most important is to see if you can cut the vilene down lower in the front.. I cut mine down to 1" above the line of topstitching that attaches the bodice to the skirt. (NT)good luckMonday, July 15, 03:21:24pm
