If your a novice, I'd say NOT stretch. The micro velvets are nice( ID fabrics). Good Luck. (NT)DMTuesday, May 26, 01:51:02pm

Had to spell : you're. (NT)DMTuesday, May 26, 01:52:07pm

My favorite is the micro-velvet -- easier to handle than many others with a lovely finish (NT).KathleenTuesday, May 26, 04:52:23pm

I gather it is the stretch in the strecth velvet that makes it hard to work with, what would you suggest using to stabilise it? (NT)New DM, I've seen some lovely stretch velvet I was thinking of using.Tuesday, May 26, 06:06:38pm

Whichever velvet you choose, plan on hand basting before you sew with your machine. Velvet "walks" even with a lot of pins. Take the extra to hand baste (NT)you'll save time in the long runTuesday, May 26, 09:29:14pm
