In reply to: Sonia 's message, "I'm trying out the coverhem stitch on my Elna serger for the first time, and the needle thread furthest to the left keeps breaking. I've tried changing tensions but don't know what else to try. Anyone have any suggestions? I've used the serger for overlock stitching for a few years, and it is usually reliable for that." on Monday, January 07, 02:23:41pm

I tried that, and it did seem to help a bit, but the problem didn't go away. I took it to the dealer and the manager couldn't improve things. Seems the thread tension is broken - won't release the thread enough to run through the machine. So it is booked in for service. ...sigh...thanks for the suggestion, though.
