Subject: It all depends on the individual dress. Is there sufficient letdown in the bodice to give it a modern drop waist look? Or is there sufficient fabric in the old skirt to make a waist band to match, and extend the bodice? Are there stiffened skirt panels that can be reused?

I would say if you want it properly stiffened so that it has that shape (most people think soft skirts are actually soft, but they must have stiffener to get the right ID shape) approximately $500. Without stiffener would be less. (NT)..Tuesday, January 08, 09:04:05am

Really that much? Seems too much to me. Especially when dressmakers sell a new one for $900 and complain that the embroidery is the biggest cost. The stiffener can't cost $200 to make! (NT)momWednesday, January 09, 07:57:36am
