Subject: I'm not sure where you are finding these $900 dresses. I imagine that those skirts are not of the type and quality that I am describing. You get what you pay for. If you get a $200 skirt redo from a bridal store, you will get a bridal skirt, not an ID skirt. That may be fine for you, but it is not the same thing. If you want a properly stiffened ID skirt, then it will cost more.

In reply to: mom 's message, "Really that much? Seems too much to me. Especially when dressmakers sell a new one for $900 and complain that the embroidery is the biggest cost. The stiffener can't cost $200 to make!" on Wednesday, January 09, 07:57:36am

I don't agree. I am a former bridal alterations seamstress. I learned about the ID "silhouette" by working on these dresses. With pictures of dresses on dancers and the underside of a soft skirt, any skilled seamstress or tailor and create the "look." (more)LynnToledoThursday, January 10, 09:13:06am
