Hi All, I was hoping for some advice. What satin works best for a soft skirt? I'm a bit of a novice and I've tried reading up on both but I'm getting more and more confused! I don't want it to look cheap and as I can only order online I don't want to make the mistake of ordering the wrong one. Many thanks ladies!

Personally, I would think you'd get a better look with the crepe backed satin - it has a little more body to it, and just looks nicer overall. Just my opinion though, (NT)dcThursday, February 21, 07:08:39am

Crepe back satin has a nice drape but would hang limp and heavy for a skirt. The acetate seems cheap to the feel but will hang better for the Irish dance skirt. (NT)My opinionThursday, February 21, 09:56:48am

If you can get the correct color in bridal satin, choose that option. It has more body than acetate and comes in a variety of content blends (NT)Online, try eBay, JoAnn's or SyTuesday, February 26, 07:48:22am

Find the color you want; get the "hand" with interfacing and/or layering (NT)a dmTuesday, March 12, 05:52:56pm
