Subject: Where did you put all those small accent stones? I have no stones on the satin stiching itself, just big ones inside on the applique fabric, plus big ones on the belt and around the neckline. Did you put the small ones right on the embroidery, or along it, or scattered on the base fabric, or all of the above? *grin*

In reply to: my opinion 's message, "Gavin usually uses all big, but we accented what they put on with lots of small. When we showed it to them, they loved the effect! Small stones done well can really complement the big ones and accentuate the design. It's more work, but worth the effort." on Tuesday, March 12, 07:28:50am

I often use small accent stones around the outside of the embroidery, usually 20ss spaced about 1/2 to 3/4" apart, depending on the embroidery. I've also used various sizes within or on the embroidery, scaling sizes to match the scale of the embroidery. And sometimes different colors, too - e.g., a color to match the dress as an outline along the embroidery, to give sparkle without a polka dot look.happy stoningThursday, March 14, 06:12:07am
