I accidentally scorched some black velvet on an alteration. I had lightly ironed a seam with a peice of velvet on top as I have done in the past but the nap was crushed anyway. Is there anything I can do to bring the nap back up. Thanks!

Try steaming (without touching the fabric to the heat/steam source) and then brushing against the nap (NT)(This won't eliminate any melted or discolored areas)Wednesday, May 06, 01:37:45pm

o.k. I am dying to know where you able to fix it? (NT)did that work?Thursday, May 07, 11:45:22pm

Thanks for your suggestion. Tried it and it worked to some degree, but not perfectly. Sadly will end up remaking bodice. (NT)ThanksFriday, May 08, 11:28:54am
