Subject: You may be right, but what does 1/4 of a dress cost? Then how much does the alteration of taking the bodice off a dress and reattaching it cost? Then how much time does it take to adjust "your" skirt to fit the bodice pattern? I think dressmakers might be short changing themselves.

In reply to: -- 's message, "I think it depends on the new skirt style (I would argue that a non-embroidered skirt is 1/4 of the work in a dress...but that's with a typical level of embroidery for me, taking into account my construction methods), as well as what can be comfortably salvaged from the current skirt. As the OP can see, it will really depend on the dressmaker." on Thursday, October 04, 09:08:23pm
